    Hello all,
I currently have a 03 Duramax 4x4 with an outfitter camper on it. It is my Baja surf rig, 55 gallons of fuel and 50 gallons of water, hot shower, porcelain shitter, queen size bed etc. As I near retirement my wife and I have decided to do a longer trip that will take us to different countries. The Duramax can only reliably be serviced in the U.S. and Canada. I have started looking for a replacement for my 15 year old Duramax and I keep going back to the Tacoma. Reliability and serviceability plus the ability to fit in a shipping container are some of the reasons. Anyways, I have some questions pertaining to future mods to a truck that I don't even own yet. So to begin with, one my biggest concerns would be payload. I think I will be looking at 2000 lbs fully loaded with people, water, fuel, utility bed and camper. Should I stop now and look at a full size rig again or are there some basic mods to help the tacoma meet the challenge? I appreciate any insight and advice. Thanks......IMG_1337.jpg
