I know it's been a while but I'm looking at this very cover myself. It's on sale this week for 250 after tax and shipping at Gator's website. I was wondering if I could talk any of you guys to get a picture of this from further back from the truck? Maybe give me a better idea of how it looks overall from the side and from the rear? I'm curious about how high it sits off the bed and how well it mates to the top of the bed.

Great write-up and pictures - was very helpful for the install, which I just completed a few hours ago.

Has anyone else noticed some gaps under the front corners where the rubber seal is not flush with the bed? I seem to have that issue and was wondering if it is common.

I have noticed a couple small light gaps on mine. In the front, and also at the hinged joints. Perhaps re-positioning, or adjusting the tension would fix this but i haven't worried about it. I remove the cover in its entirety somewhat often, so for me it is not worth being finicky about how it sits. I do get a small amount of water inside on occasion, which is fine for my purposes.

Thanks for all the post on the Gator Tri fold. Convinced me to buy one, it's a great resonably priced soft cover.
    So here's my input.
I didn't like the unfinished look of the rail attachment, so I used some tundra bed cleats. Now I'm happy with the look. 20170319_102019.jpg 20170319_102019.jpg 20170319_102123.jpg

Other than me wishing it was a bit more water-tight around the front, I have no other complaints. It is a good value for the price.

I have had mine on for a couple months with no problems. Two road trips with speeds up to 80mph, no flapping. Small amounts of water get in with a strong storm, maybe an few drops. I did not put the seals on the truck, neither the end caps nor the back gate. Will get around to those one day.

I guess I'm the only one that feels it's not worth the time of day. They are awful to deal with when you have a problem.01616_c26PkO7Kav3_600x450_b2df497fc422c91134592db9bf1933c2516ba85a.jpg All 4 corners are pulling up and it flops really bad at 60 mph. I sent them pictures and told them what's going on. They said,it's normal. I asked for a replacement and a call tag. They want me to pay up front for another and charge me $25 to return this one. What a joke.

I've had mine getting close to a year if not a year now. It works well. Minor water gets in. Best mod I've done by far. I hope to replace it with a camper shell this year though.

I hate to bring this thread back from the dead, but how is this set-up holding up for you?

Thanks for the update. I went ahead and bought the gator. It should be fine for my usage, if not I'll go with something better. Really just want to use this one as a cheap proof of concept.

Also, I really like how the other poster used tundra bed cleats to mount it for a cleaner appearance. I have a set from my old Tundra that will be perfect for this.

I love my gator cover, but I hate the brackets that come with it. I replaced my factory bed rails with unistrut, so I made some new/better brackets for my cover.

I have had mine for 3 years on my 2017. I added the foam pipe covers to the cross bars to help drain water off. Works well. Did have a break in at a hotel in Fla. but it still works good.. No flapping at Hwy speeds though I added a rope tie down from back crossbar.

Mine came with 3 sets of those aluminum brackets that install in the bed rail. 2 for the front clamps , 2 for the rear clamps , and 2 for the safety clamps to attach to.

There were no instructions regarding this step, and at first I thought they just sent me 2 extra brackets/hardware . I slid the extra brackets into place and mounted the safety clamps to them.

I got the same one in January, it has the straps, and the clips go into the top of the cover. Their customer service is actually good if you have an issue.
