Besides my other pet peeves with this truck, one of which being that when the headlights are off, the back lit gauges are also off leaving that dull dark dingy grey color. Which is starting to get annoying in that my morning drive is always towards the sun causing me to be unable to see my gauges since they're not lit. I've also noticed this under bridges, etc. Can't see my speed nor my rpm's for shifting.

Has anyone modded the cluster somehow to keep the back-light of the gauges on all the time? Not sure how easy that would be to do.

Pretty sure even on full bright, you won't see them in direct sun.

Try it with your lights on some morning and see if I'm right.

I have, and it's better. I do not want to drive with my lights on all the time however.

The dash lights are controlled by the photo sensor located on the dash. It is a small black cover that I believe is in the grill of the driver side on the dash. If you cover this with black electrical tape it thinks it is night and enables the backlights. Only thing is if you have your headlight switch in auto mode it also enables your headlights. You could always keep it with the lights in the parking lights mode and manually toggle the headlights on and off?

Drive with your parking lights on. They turn off when the car turns off. That’s what I do. I like the DRL on with the fog lights
