    I've been looking for a swappable gauge cluster for my 1999 2.7L 4x4 A/T

Is there a list of compatible clusters that would work for me? Not crazy about the white faced clusters from 01-04.

    Would a 99 4runner cluster work?

My truck has the mechanical odometer if that makes a big difference, I wish it was digital.

I'm wanting to swap so that i have a working Tach.

4 runner clusters are not compatible even though they look almost identical. The mounts are in different locations.
95-97 Tacoma is not compatible either. They are mechanical, have a speedo cable in the back and have a mechanical odometer and trip meter.
98-2004 is electronic even though the non-tach clusters have a mechanical odometer. Tach clusters have a digital odometer.

Obviously it's easiest to find one from a truck that had the same configuration as yours but I think any cluster from 98-2000 should work. Usually you'd want to pick a cluster from a truck with the same number of cylinders (2.4 and 2.7 are interchangeable since they're both 4cyl) but since you'll most likely have to reprogram the mileage to match your truck (unless you get super lucky and find a cluster with mileage that's already close enough to yours) the engine size can be changed too while reprogramming the mileage. Both are controlled by the odometer module in the cluster.
