I had this mod done and I'm still loving it. I'd hate to trade it in only to see Orange all over again. A must do mod!

Hmm...is it possible, to CAREFULLY dremel down the clear plastic to get to the orange film, remove that, and replace it with another color film?

And is that the same for clocks that aren't 2010, i have an 2009. Is it a film sandwich for that one too, if so, would that be possible to dremel down to the film, remove the film, and then apply your own? Thanks for the help!

nope, if it were, others and i would have already done it. the silver paint on the outside is painted directly to the orange plastic. the only way to do it would be to completely remove the sliver paint on the outside and orange plastic, then repaint the symbols...something someone tried, but failed.

yep, the 05-09 clocks have a film that can be removed. but the clock is a greenish-blue. there are a few writeups of people changing clocks, check it out.

greenish blue? that actually might work, the lighting i currently have is a combination of green and blue...unless, you mean like a teal, greenish blue...ill have to search to see if I can find a thread where someone posted pictures up. Thanks a ton!

As for the sandwichs...that sucks. A lot. lol, I have not given up yet, thank you for the information. Im going to sit on that, and think about a way around it...or just get a headache in frustration...whichever comes first lol. Thanks for your help yosh!

Lowered 3/4, debadged, led tails, projector headlights with hids, billet grill, blacked out windows, painted front and rear bumper and grill shell. Inside, 4 crappy 15's, suede wrapped headliner and door panel inserts, alpine double din, few painted pieces inside, and every led is either blue or white.
I sanded down the film on the clock and put some blue tint over it but it is more of a greenish color then anything. I am trying to find a '10 clock and replace the led's in that but im not having any luck finding one. look in my build thread if you want to see what i did to get rid of the orange HVAC lights

wow, thats actually a really super good idea. hmmmmmmm lol. I have to do something...everything else in my truck is a nice blue or green, and that orange...well it just throws off my groove...I may have to go about your route, though, I still think if I think hard about it...ill come up with something. But for now Im installing my new CB radio from Cobra (the 50th annivarsary edition) Its freakin sweet. ANNNND you can change its face color cuase they are LEDs and sweet and its going to be green...or blue...depending...anywya, im just excited (took off a half day of work to come home to do it...so...im going to go get to that now lol)

Damn, I should step onto this business, It's really easy to do if you know how to solder and have the right tools. I've done this mod in my gauges and stereo as well.

Don't know what else to say except sorry buddy.

    You're roughly two hours away.

Concord is within 30 minutes of me. I haven't done it before on a first gen but if you have the led's needed and allow me to take a little extra time with it then I wouldn't see any reason not to.
