while everyone is asking about bigger option, im wondering if my 265/70/17 will be fine with these wheels on a 2.5 5100 lift?

Will they fit, yes. Is it advised? No.

Your answer is in the screenshot you posted. It's too wide of a rim for that tread width.

Yup, either run the proper tire size and cut/trim accordingly or get 8.5 size wheels.

As mentioned a few times already, go with the 285/75r17. So worth it! Much taller than a 285/70r17.

But the weight... :( feel a regear would be needed. Or a super charger like you have.

0.5" is too wide of a difference? my only concern is safety wise if i use the 265 on these wheels.. it will only be like 3-4 months when i get my 285..

Sounds like a good excuse for a supercharger to me! But a regear would be nice too.

Maybe a supercharger once my daughters are out of college. They are 6 months and 3...

Edit: but if I ever do decide its time, you know I'll be buying you some beers to talk me through it.

How much taller? I’m running 285/70/17 and thinking about going 295/70. But I’m open to 285/75/17.

    Pictures of your truck?

If you save a dollar a day... you might have enough for the supercharger before they head to college :D

That is what I'm currently running. Great tire but I'm moving up to 35" with the new wheels. :sawzall:

Since I have a work van, I only put maybe 40 miles a week on my truck. I fill up about twice a month but have never checked the MPG. I'm sure the 4.88 gears didn't help any. I would guess probably about 15MPG. o_O
