    Hello,

You are receiving this email because our records show that you have
purchased a back-ordered UltraGauge with a Windshield mount or a
windshield mount separately. **If this is not the case or if you have
already received your order, please disregard this email.

We have just learned that our shipment of windshield mounts from our
factory, which was to be delivered today, has been held up in customs.
This is breaking information so we do not yet have all the specifics.
*We are told that delivery will take place next week, but we do not
yet have a firm date. **A best guess would be Wednesday 5/9/12. *We will
provide another status update email once the delivery date is
confirmed. *Status updates will also be posted *on the product page:
    http://ultra-gauge.com/ZC/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=8
    <http://ultra-gauge.com/ZC/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=8>

All orders have been prepared and staged and will be processed quickly
    once the mounts arrive.
We are very sorry for this delay.

    Best Regards,
    UltraGauge pre-sales support

I wonder if some chinamen jumped into the shipping container that housed our late ass ultraguages.

Perhaps there were drugs, dead bodies, non native bugs, fruit, or maybe a huge stack of cash in there with it. Like in lethal weapon 2

I'm fine with it taking a little longer. At least they told us why. I've had to wait for things stuck in customs before. No big deal.

And we have your email too ;)

Don't really care about the delay (works out better since I'm out of town anyways) - not pleased about the mass sharing of emails though...

So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
Got the email too. So... waiting.....

Installed mine with velcro under the ac panel

I think it is a cool little gadget, but im not impressed with the lag. It has about 1 second delay between number changes.. guess there is not anything that can be done about that..

Somewhere in the settings you can change the refresh time to something like .3 seconds. I found it on accident while setting it up so I don't know if its much faster than the factory settings.

I saw this and have read it on TW somewhere. But my question is, is there a down side to this setting? I mean why even have this as an option? Seems there must be some reason behind it. Just like I've been taught with vehicle's, for everything you mod/change there is always some form of negative against it weather it's minor or major.

Only thing I could see as an issue is it overheating. :notsure: They must overheat enough to warrant putting a gauge in it to tell us what temperature the unit is running at.

This is correct, according to page 32 of the UG Owner's Manual:
"Each time the display is refreshed, UltraGauge reads parameters from the vehicle’s computer (ECM) and updates the displayed gauges. As the time is reduced, UltraGauge consumes more bus bandwidth requesting and transferring data. As a result this setting should be used with caution. In many vehicles the OBDII port is connected to a vehicle wide information bus. This bus is used by various vehicle modules to communicate.

There are potential downsides/problems, listed on pages 32 & 42 of the UG Owner's Manual:
"There is a finite bandwidth on the bus and setting the refresh time smaller and smaller will consume more and more bandwidth to the point that it could impair regular bus communication between system modules. This is especially true for 9141 and KWP2000 protocols..."
"The 9141 and KWP2000 protocols are very inefficient. The more engine specific gauges displayed on a page, the slower the page will update. This can be witnessed by watching the health indicator beat rate. For all other protocols, the health indicator beats about once each second. With 9141 and KWP 2000 the update rate can be as long as 2.2 seconds."
"Vehicles with the 9141 and KWP2000 protocols should run 'KWP/9141 optimizer' before changing the Page Refresh Time... With this setting, the update rate for some 9141/KWP vehicles may be improved."

The downsides/problems have nothing to do with the temperature:
"When reducing the refresh time, note any abnormal side effects such as intermittent “Err” being display, the Check Engine Light becoming illuminated, or impaired engine performance or altered shift points."

Which protocol do we pick for our toyota's?
    Mine is a 05 tacoma with the 4.0l v6.

I assume it's the 11 bit can, since my friends FJ was that.

I'm not sure about 2nd Gens, but 1st Gens use 9141. You shouldn't needs to "pick" a protocol, however, since UGs automatically determine the correct one. (See page 12 in the UG Owner's Manual.)
