Looking around, lots of people seem to be running these
    https://www.amazon.com/GE-Lighting-69822-Rectangular-Replacement/dp/B00BQX2BSO

However, its almost $500 for a pair of headlights.

Not looking for Ebay chinese junk that will burn out. That said, are there any other cost effective solutions for some better lights (plug and play only), not interested in doing wire harness or messing with wires

    Thanks

Did you check rigid industries (truck-lite)? Had some on my JKU rubicon and they were impressive

Firstly, those don't fit your truck anyway.

But not many, if any companies offer a decent aftermarket alternative to our headlights. The earlier trucks (pre 2000) that use the the sealed beams have some options, but honestly most of the aftermarket brands just suck.

Best bet is the "proper headlight upgrade" or a full-on HID etrofit. "proper" upgrade is best bang for your buck, IMO. Either OEM housings or the CAPA certified ones form RockAuto.

If you can change a lightbulb, you can install the wiring harness from the proper upgrade.

I'm not sure any of those would fit in the pre-2000's, let alone the 2001+ trucks. At least not without a bunch of fabrication.

huh? OP has a 2001 (and a couple 3rd gens) according to his sig, and didn't seem to want to do even a wiring harness. I'm not aware of what else you're referring to.

True, the CAPA cert housing I have probably were made in china, though I don't know for sure.

But there's a HUGE difference between the CAPA certified junk made in china and the ebay no-name brand junk that's (also) made in china.

01 Truck has the CAPA lights - you recommended them last year and we changed them then. That one is fine

I need a sealed beam replacement for a farm truck

    Correct

I was asking for a sealed beam application for a farm junker

Thanks. The rigid you linked - are they better then the GE? Same price essentially

If $500 is the going rate - gonna have to get them.

The only reason the Rigid would be better is their warranty is insane and they're heated so they won't freeze over in cold weather
