So I'm confused.. Which models are supposed to have the 4.30. Where am I looking on the door sticker. And how do I use that calculator thingy. Most importantly.. What the hell is the difference?

No problem, it was actually a pretty quick little project once I could get my 5 year old focused on something else for 5 minutes.

I certainly hope it is a relabeling of the gear codes like you are saying. Wish they still painted the pinion shafts/nut like in he old days sure made things easier...

Seriously now that I see the B07B on the auto trans truck I wonder if it is not just a simple data entry issue.

Being as the B07B, by the older codes would be a 4.30 / 4 pinion carrier. Perhaps whom ever is at the helm of the label maker just swapped the two by accident.

Toyota stopped using standardized axle codes across all models in the early 90's. A01A will mean something different in every model that uses it.

You cannot compare axle codes between a Tacoma or a Tundra or 4Runner or even between a 2004 and 2005 Tacoma.

Scandalous. My OR is also labeled B06A. Again I say: Oh Toyota.

It is interesting, I've seen a few issues with door tags over the years (4Runners with the wrong tire size listed, etc.).

B06A should be open, and most of the tags posted in this thread are actually TRD Sports, not TRD Off-Roads (with the exception of 5TFCZ5AN0GX007283 and that automatic B07B).

That said, based on that tag and yours, it does seem they are putting B06A on both the open and e-locker 6MT trucks. Oh Toyota.

What is the difference between the B06A listed and a B06B?

Quick question, I have a 2010 Tacoma regular cab short bed 2.7 4x4. My axle code is A02A. What rear end ratio and stuff do I have?

Understand this is an old post but my Texas made TRD OR with manual transmission shows B06B. The axle is a BD22AN Hino 8.75” rear differential with an internal eLocker and 4.3:1 ratio.
