    I found a built D60 for the rear for $500 already. Only spent about $300 getting it where I wanted. I'd say that was pretty cheap.

    Just the norm skids, sliders, & 35's
    Nope, in factory form they are not as strong as they are made out to be. Pretty much everything gas to be aftermarket for it to be strong.

    Well yeah I thought they were a cheap option from the factory with lots of aftermarket support. I thought they were the cheapest option to build...

    None of its cheap really. Find one already built, that'll be cheapest.

    That would be the 14bolt. By far the cheapest to build for the beef you get.

    You can sometimes get really lucky and find a old military 14 bolt with the Detroit for around $300. Just a couple weeks ago saw one come up in charlotte for $250

    Pro tip: leave the hub nuts or backing plate on to protect the spindle threads. Mine fell off the jackstand and I dented and cracked the threads for the spindle nut. Luckly I got it to work.

    Yeah I've dropped it a few times but luckily it was in the grass. Its a lot more manageable now that it's just a bare housing

    Still chugging along on this axle swap. Figured out roughly where the perches need to go but u bolts are going to be tough to get to work with the pinion angle I want since there's a square truss on the bottom of the axle. I could notch the truss but I'm more intrigued by doing a u bolt eliminator so I'll probably go that route. Also tore the third apart today. Got the solid spacer on and preload set and it's ready to assemble and run a pattern, just ran out of time.

    I was just getting ready to post that you can just gun the ubolts down and you will be fine, the I realized you inboarded your springs... Bet you wish you didn't do that lol j/k.

    Ha yeah it would be much easier if I hadn't but it will be worth it in the end. Plus I like to do things outside the norm. I didn't get a locker, going to weld it up.
