My truck only as 3K miles on it but I also don’t understand the “gear hunting issue”. My transmission performs like any other automatic I have driven. I also don’t understand the lack of power complaining. It is completely adequate for the truck, it’s not a sports car.

Same for my 2020. Around 1200 miles it mostly went away. At nearly 19k miles now the truck doesn't hunt one bit. Its just like my v8 tundra auto worked. I think its the guys expecting too much from these trucks too early plus using all the S modes, and ECT screwing them up before they have a chance to learn your driving habits, and road conditions. I've kept my truck in the D mode nearly all the time except for steep hills braking, and towing.

There's no early shifting in my 2020. If anything i feel the truck needs to shift a tiny bit sooner. It only felt early when the truck had under 1500 miles on the odo.

ECT and or s4 in town driving will eliminate overdrive gears (both 5 and 6). Try s5 when you're on the highway.
