Hi TW! I’m new here and How’s everyone doing? I have a 2017 TRD off-road. And I just bought a bit bigger tires 275/70-17 sizes with aluminum wheels size 17x9. I’m expecting more gear hunting now. So, anyone of you here has more experience and knowledge which is the best solution for this? And I’m not a hardcore off-roader just in moderate trails.

Shift manually with the shifter in S. This way you can choose to stay in the lower gear to prevent hunting. In the city use 3. On the highway use 4-5 depending on traffic. Remember it's an IS350 engine and can be hammered at redline all day.

I hate to say I read the title and OP and thought he was interested in advice for transporting hunting gear to a hunting/camping site. LOL--the years of partying must be catching up to me.

In my defense, I have a manual, so I hunt my own gears, as it were...

@SpeySquatch I’m sorry I’m not sure about running gears. It’s an automatic stock transmission.

Magnuson TVS1900 Supercharger with 87mm pulley, Catted OVTune dumptubes, Doug Thorley 2.5in y-pipe, custom mufflers, 76mm Tundra throttle body, 5.29 Yukon gears, JamesT custom fuel rails, Yotawerx 87mm tune, Eibach Pro Truck Stage 2 suspension. And some other stuff.
The dealer has nothing to do with OVTune. It is a tune you purchase for $700. https://www.ovtuned.com/collections/toyota/products/toyota-tacoma-2grfks-calibration

While that might sound like a lot it is worth it. It definitely improves the drivability and gives a significant amount of HP and TRQ in the lower RPMs for the performance tunes. I currently run the 91 Octane performance tune on my 2017 offroad.
