ABS light came on in my 98 Taco. Checked one of the rear wheel sensors and it had a fair amount of gear oil on it. Is this normal?
    Thanks

Sounds like a axle seal check the brake drum as well

Yeah. Brake housing is dry so maybe just starting to fail?
    Thanks

Clean the breather by spinning it and change the axle seals asap.

Once the gear oil is past the bearing it requires a full bearing and brake replacement.

Thanks! I installed a new wiring harness for my e-locker which came with a new breather hose. Bearings are due to be changed anyway—they have 126K under my watch plus maybe they weren’t changed for the 114K miles when I didn’t own the truck.

I'd still check it. A new hose is fine, actual breather may still have become stuck. Hope it works out.
