    Yeah I actually emailed Toyota with the VIN to see if they could get me a build sheet.

    FWIW my '97 2.7 5spd ext cab has 4.10s, but it also has the code on the sticker saying so. jealous of the guys who lucked out with factory 4.56's

    My door code says mines a 3:52 gear ratio...there is absolutely no way that is right....

    Well damn, Toyota sent the build sheet to me and It did not say anything about gear ratio, but did have everything else lol. Just my luck :)

    Luck has nothing to do with it. Tacoma 4-bangers with autos all got 4.56 gears from the factory

    Dont think it'd be worth the little bit lower gearing, No way I could drive one of these ball less bastards with an auto

    Actually the 4.56 gears and auto aren't too bad. It's not a sports car it's a truck.

    Well, when I told Toyota I was trying to find out what gear ratio I had he emailed me this. So it looks like my truck has 4.10

    Mr. Laib,
    Your vehicle came with the optional aluminum alloy wheels with the
    the P265/75R15 tires and wheel arch molding.

    Thank you so much for your time! I noticed my door sticker indicates tire size p225 75 r15
    But the viss you sent me indicates wheel size p265/75r15
    So which wheel size do u think this truck came with? Tires and wheels were changed pryer to me purchasing vehicle (417) 207-2508
