    Are you 4x4?

And you can expect your low end power back. Might lose a little gas mileage but nothing severe.

If you are 4x4 you have to regear front AND rear. If not the drive train spins at different speeds and will rip apart.

Makes your motor spin faster = more gas.

Your motor doesnt actually spin faster. But your RPM's will go up some. The gears make the tires move because faster and the engine does less work to do the same speed. I am regeared. If I hold at 60-65 I get great MPG but since I run with traffic at 70+ I am getting 12.5 with out recalculating the differnece between what the odometer says and my actual miles traveled.

    Check these out

MPG is not solely based on RPM's.
While it does play a large part, fuel consumption also heavily relies on engine load as well as throttle position.
This is why its better to downshift instead of lug the engine.

Lower (numerically higher) gears will give more power at a certain speed, thus taking away some load on the engine which in turn would net an increase in MPG.

RPM is a rate of spin. Up = faster

This chart seems to disagree. Your assumption is that with 3.73 there is serious lugging and with 4.1 there isn't.

Call chase at East coast gear supply. They have new and used sets cheaper than most. Wont beat the $50 though... lol

He can answer any questions on the technical side.
