yes, you're reading it wrong. Green is old, blue is new. @ 2500 rpm you're only gaining a few lb-ft

What's interesting is that OVTune's baseline is 221 peak hp whereas this shows 198 peak hp. That's where it throws me for a bit of a loop

Right - % gain from baseline to tuned results is what we should be comparing - assuming that everything else is equal.

You have to realise ovtune has put MUCH more time into his tune. Tinkering with the ignition and all. It helps having R&D truck as well so you have all the time you want to experiment. That being said im not implying one or the other, thats up to the buyer.

Oh, yes, i'm well aware. dynojet vs others (i cant recall which brand) are generally different by quite a bit. but it'd be more interesting to me to see the comparison of an OVtune on that same dyno. Anyone in the phl area have it to compare?

That is an assumption at best, as there is currently too little information to make any definitive conclusions on their development/process.

True it is an assumption. This person could have been working on the 3rd gen since it was released for all i know.. but numbers do speak for them selves.

They are claiming 30 whp and 20 wtq....which are greater gains than the latest 1.3 release (based on % gain from baseline to end results)

With that in mind...The fact that OVtune's development is covered in much greater detail, more so gives me that warm fuzzy feeling....plus, they (GearOne) are on the East Coast and I'm in the Midwest...lol.

I'm currently committing to OVtune, but competition is always a good thing....for the consumer.

    Different dynos measure power differently.

. I would sure like to see more info, development process, etc. Checked out their website / facebook..... looks like the first dyno sheet of any car ever.

Do you disable VSC/TRAC and run test mode when doing dyno pulls?
    Would that net a difference?

I got a few random questions, what do you mean you had the pleasure to “work” with them? Are you a friend, customer or associate? Also when they did this to your truck was it a piggyback or ECU flash?

I figured id respond here to answer what I can:

I am a friend and customer of the shop owner. By "work with" i mean i let them use my truck to load the tune, do some driving/data logging, and do a before/after dyno. I don't know the technical aspects of the tune other than it is an ECU and Trans tune. I was told it would give me a small bump in power to help with running larger tires, and help shifting and gear hunting; it did both of these things. They did confirm that the transmission tune shouldn't change with any "learning". It was something that they had already created, and my truck was not the one used for the actual writing of the tune or any R&D. They flash the tune at their shop and it sounds like as of now that is the only option.

That is pretty much all the information i have. I really recommend contacting them for the details until they get on here or have the tune listed on their website. They are super personable, smart guys and will be able to answer any question you might have.

I emailed them and they replied back with the following:

"The price for the tune is 400.00. We would need your truck here to load the tune on it with our software. We can remove and reinstall the tune prior to and after a dealer service, but our tuner claims it will not be detectable by the dealer."
