Foglight issue fixed!! Just in time for a *predicted* 12" of snow to fall overnight. Turned out to the the foglight anytime mod that my brother and I did had a loose connection. No corrosion.

Extended the anytime wire, spliced in the extended wire to the factory foglight harness and used some of those heatshrink/solder connectors and they work great!! Stopped at the hardware store to get some dielectric grease and splooged some of that into the Rigid connectors to be safe. All good for the storm over the next 24 hours.

Last weekend, I lent a buddy a hand with his suspension; went well and made me excited for mine to come:

Ordered up some hardware for the coming mods too. Got the LCA ball joint bolts -- still need to order those "attachment kits" and the new hubs.. hopefully very soon.

Also, while at the hardware store today, I grabbed some bolts for the sway bar bracket mounts as well as washers, lock washers and nuts:

Dual battery setup is officially sold. Dropping it off at the PO tomorrow during lunch.

    On deck, one beefy boii:

Have to get the core support welded/reinforced come spring time (too fucking cold). I'm really looking forward to getting this 31M installed. This morning, it was -9* and the truck wouldn't turn over. It's not much warmer in the garage. After 3 attempts with the harbor freight jump pack, it fired. My brother went out to his truck (similarly setup) and his fired up on the 31M X2 like it was nothing. I'm so done with these generic batteries that constantly give me issues every winter.

Also, to be ordered, the remaining front suspension items; wheel bearing/hub assembly, splash shields, and those LBJs clamp things (obviously the professional name).

Need to get to the 4x4 shop to use their press to press out the stock bushings for the whitelines.

I see you figured this out. I was going to say I'll flip on my ditch lights tomorrow to see if they act up. Maybe I will anyway...

I thought the bumper bar was messed up a few weeks ago, but it turned out it was coated with ice.

I need to look into my 20" bumper bar. I might have to clean up the ground. It's dim/flickers. Too fucking cold for any outdoor activities.

Although, today, my brother and I swapped out my mom's car battery that failed her. She was still running the stock battery (2015) and it was time. Others seemed to have the same issues as there was a graveyard of 10-12 at Costco today.

I had to screw around in the weather today. It sucked!

Hopefully it's just a ground with your light bar. That seems to be the problem with electrical issues about 90% of the time.

This weather will surely let everyone know what kind of shape their battery is in! I keep hearing about batteries crapping out after 2-3 years. Mine is over 2 years and 47K miles, so I'm thinking about an upgrade soon. Those AGM like you posted earlier have my eye.

It's weird, because the battery in my '03 lasted probably 10 years and ~180K miles. I traded in at 257K on the 2nd battery. I wonder if it's the batteries, or more parasitic drain with newer vehicles.

Being outside definitely sucked yesterday. It was for mom though, so, worth it.

Idk what it is, but the fact that my brother was able to fire up first try and it took me 3 tries, I'm impressed and I can't wait.

My mom seems shocked with how "soon" OEM stuff needs to be replaced. I tried explaining to her that the factory uses the most cost effective stuff for them and they don't necessarily care about consumables; tires, batteries etc.

In related news, the dual battery stuff has been shipped out and is out of my life.

While I was working away, I assembled my SDHQ billet battery terminals. Looking forward to a littler warmer weather to work on a few things..

Just make friends with people that have heated shops. That’s the real trick to modding year round!

Looking at heating options. Only problem is that she's a long boi and space is limited with the door closed.

Being CAKED in salt is also a deterrent..

Part of the plan is to still move away. Find a place with room for a shop and build it out to support this addiction. This house is definitely an upgrade from the previous house because I can fit in the garage as opposed to keeping it out on the street 24/7/365 but it's getting old...need more room

Room is key. I’m slowly working my way to building a barndominium lol. More shop space than living space is my dream

I'm thinking about building a barndominium somewhere too; plenty of space, lifts, tools space for toys, trucks etc all under one roof on an acre or two.

    ORDER PLACED!! :spending::spending:

    Screen Shot 2021-02-09 at 07.51.20.jpg

Wheel bearing/hubs will be ordered on Friday!! Going to wait for those to be delivered and then head to the 4x4 shop with the knuckles, hubs and LCA's.

I want to get the battery purchased, but, my schedule over the coming weekends will be chaos at best. Hoping for the end of February (MAYBE) or mid-March (warmer weather).

    Getting it done...

I certainly hope so. Just got my parts shipment in for the 240, to get back to driving status, and now it's 5 degrees out and I'm not taking a car apart outside in that shit.
    Especially with snow around.

Definitely don't blame you. I was outside working on replacing my mom's car battery Sunday; mind you, Sunday morning when I woke up it was -9*. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't fun. Definitely don't recommend it.

I was out in the garage Sunday evening trying to locate some misc parts that I almost left out of that dual battery setup I shipped out yesterday (some J-hooks and the hardware for the new tray etc). I think it was 10 minutes only but the cold was starting to set in and I was feeling it; hands, feet, face. I want to get an insulated door and a heater for the winter.

Hell, the garage makeover project has come to a halt with all this weather we have been getting. Hard to work on things when it's this miserable out. A few weeks back, I was working on a buddy's truck and they had a Bauer heater from HFT. This little unit made it so comfortable that I would have been able to work on his truck in shorts and a t-shirt:

You are definitely correct. Have an old Kerosun I use when I have to work out in the garage when it's cold but my garage is so full of shit
that's for the shop currently there is really no point unless it's an emergency repair.
