Don't blame you there. I'm sure it had to be a dick tease installing someone else's and not your own.

I'm 110% Anti-Auto Zone. That said, I do buy their DuraLast Gold batteries. They hold up extremely well...Priced reasonable (compared to others) and their warranty is good. I've also became fond of Napa's "Optima knock-offs". Just a bit pricier than Duralast.

I am as well. However, it was the only place that was close enough so as not to take up too much of my brother's time. Overall, with the price and warranty, I am happy.

So I followed up with the powdercoater last week on Wednesday and they said that the bumper would be sandblasted Thursday and they would get it back the same day and paint it Friday.

Friday afternoon I get these pictures:

    56AFD599-6331-46A5-96E1-BB6B2E5CA5E5.jpg

    AE8095DE-D6B2-4725-ACC4-8A6F18B1A93E.jpg

I was also told that it would be be painted over the weekend. I guess I will see if I get any pics this week of the final product. I really just want my fucking bumper back at this point. It's been going on 6 weeks now and this is just unacceptable.

Question for those with swingout rear bumpers; How do you extend the rear camera? Splice in wires and make your own harness? How long does it need to be? Do you drill holes into the top bar of the swingout and rivet the camera bracket to that bar?

My brother received the actual install instructions from Pelfreybilt with his bumper and it doesn't mention what to do at all. Any information would great help and TIA.

Well since you didn't ask

Last week Thursday, they said that they got the bumper back from the sandblaster and would paint it over the weekend. Cool. Yesterday I followed up with them to see if I could possibly pick it up tomorrow since my brother is off work and could help move it.

I was told that they will do their best but have been super busy and backed up. I started to show a tiny amount of frustration saying that it has now been 6 weeks when I was told it would take 1 week when I dropped it off. I was told the following:

"it's a lot bigger and heavier than we thought so it has thrown us off"

"Thrown us off"!? Wtf. They told me that they have done offroad bumpers in the past and this would not be an issue for them to spray.

Oh and btw, I didn't know the bumper was too heavy for a team of 3-5 people to move around. I only loaded into my truck BY MYSELF, but what do I know, right?

I definitely see why you would be frustrated I know I would be. I don't see how 1 week quote time turns into over 6 weeks. I can understand it taking a little longer a few days or even a week but 6 weeks just seems excessive. I know it would be the last thing I would take to them.

I'm not going to say anything or ask about the bumper until I see pics that you got it. I hope it works out and you get it soon without having to Kung fu on someones ass.

They usually do wheels. Like 20's or bigger. Someone in the local Facebook offroad group recommended them. But, like I said before, I made sure to ask if they have ever done offroad bumpers before to which they said yes.

According to the guy, the bumper had to be sent to a different powdercoater because they could not do it in house. Again, they told me they do offroad bumpers yet mine has to have special treatment/delays because it's too heavy? I cannot remember if I saw a forklift when I dropped it off. :notsure:

Most off-road bumpers consist of a single bar or a couple of tubes. Small part shops don’t have issues with them. Hand them a wrap around high clearance Tacoma bumper and they usually panic.
