    Thanks for the info!

I'm going to be running this setup here:

    http://www.armortechoffroad.com/2005-Tacoma-Dual-Battery-Tray_p_2.html

Again, they fit 2 group 34 optimas. Would it be okay to run one red top and one yellow top side by side?

    Thanks!

So then, based on what Scott said, since one will primarily be for the winch, the lights, etc etc etc, the advice there is a yellow top for the accessories. So then the crank battery should also be a yellow top.

Any issues with having the crank battery be a yellow top instead of a red top?

All depends how they are wired. If in parallel, then no. If isolated, yes - but not the preferred way.

My suggestion, since your setup and use is/will be similar to mine, is to get 2 yellow tops, as @Blackout14 said.

My concern with the dual battery tray in stock location is my aftermarket HID lights-- I almost wish I didn't have them, they are kinda a PITA when it comes to organizing and adjusting and water.

I am going to see what I am able to work out with mine. I won mine in a giveaway and recently got them warrantied so I am invested nothing but maybe time into them. If I have to ditch them, I will grab some pure white bulbs from advanced vatozone. Nbd.

I am just going to go headlight-less..just remove them completely. Headlights are overrated.

Out of curiosity, when did this occur? The more and more that I thought about this today, I remember an episode of XOverland talking about batteries. I thought they were Optima red tops.

Sorry. I found the episode. "Expedition Overland live vlog Episode 6". Minute mark "49:30" They're Odyssey batteries. And they're red tops.

I guess they use National Luna now in their more recent videos.

The hard thing would be getting another battery brand to match the size of the 34 Optimas.

Little update. The wife got a new job and will be home on weekends starting next week. This is fantastic as we will get to spend a LOT of time together on the weekend which we weren't getting before. VERY excited for this and looking forward to spending more quality time with my partner in crime. Hopefully open her up more to the idea of camping and overlanding.

The wife did have Sunday off this past weekend and we spent the day together doing a few projects. Hopefully we can trade some project weekends with wheelin' weekends haha.

First up was a greenhouse center for plants for our house and my mother-in-law's house:

    2C7BF774-8FC0-49F9-A361-47C9A71BC77C.jpg

We also removed a stubborn, root rotten bush in the front of the house that just basically fell over. No pictures but it needs a replacement.

Next, another dog gate. I swear I should open up a dog gate business. This one is for the guest room/dog room. Some 1x3 and 1x4 pine made this a breeze. It's 4 feet tall so she doesn't jump the gate. Before, she used to be locked in the kitchen and guest room and learned to clear the gate and the countertop. Needed something MUCH taller:

    CD5B8753-B796-4C6C-8D11-F61AA44484A8.jpg

    Had to test it today:

    194BF167-6A3B-4995-A085-75CF285C3F87.jpg

Worked like a charm.since she was where my wife locked her in before leaving for work.

After work, addressed the CB drop. I let the bolts soak in PB blaster over the weekend. They just popped right off:

    1E184636-60B4-4359-9F9D-DC17500FE843.jpg

    Two very CRUSTY BOIS!!

I should be able to test it this weekend. I was planning on removing them before the weekend, but I didn't get a chance to test and highway speeds to check the new vibrations. This weekend, we are going up to the lake house and will definitely hit highway speeds. I am keeping the CB drop kit in the truck and reinstall as needed.

Saw this on a local FB group page:

I have been looking to add a rotopax storage bin AND a pressurized water system. Waiting for him to post a how to and will see the cost and if it's worth it.

Lastly, a giant heavy box showed up at work:

    I HATE these fuckers:

The ATO dual battery setup arrived!!

    3C93219E-5EE7-4A08-ADE9-038F37A2C42F.jpg

Hope to clean it up, prime it and paint it. Not sure when this will be going in exactly, but I'm stoked to have this setup secured in case they decided to stop offering it like off grid..that was upsetting but this is a cost effective option in the long run.

    Lastly, GOALS!!

My wife said it would be good for parties to put all of our friends kids in..like a play room. Pets or kids.. containment is key.

So, shoutout to Michael at Pelfreybilt for sending me a swingout latch handle for free. Only bad thing is that it's the wrong thread. I need a replacement for the latch lock pin not the swingout pivot. Sent him the picture below:

    3189583C-5FDC-4DDE-B02B-2703D78680DC.jpg

Not more than 20 minutes later he emails back a link and he confirmed the part was valid for what I'm looking for with Tyler himself:

    https://www.polyperformance.com/synergy-spring-loaded-t-handle-pull-pin-p180te

Hope the thread is correct. Ordered.

Also had my cam bolt kits from Wheelers show up and actually got candy this time

    04F85485-1DED-4EBE-B112-B5CDCF72FE0E.jpg

I thought the box might have either just been candy or the kits with a plethora of candy to make up for not getting candy with my TC Cam tab gussets haha

I got some measurements and it's 68" x 34". VERY narrow as it seems like it would be a great motorcycle trailer, but not so much as an expo trailer.

I also just don't have the room or resources for it right now.
