That's funny you mention that. We wanted to put up a privacy fence when they moved in next door. Few months later, they put one up and see didn't have to pay for it! We are thinking about putting up the privacy Gates on our side now. Minimal cost to us! Can't beat that!!

Yea I don't like most folks. The few I do like have access to anything I have. When I get company in the shop or working on something for someone and my back starts screaming or I have had enough I simply tell them its time to go. They don't get offended they just know I am an cranky old bastard that would anything for them. Wife (room mate, not married)tells me I am rude. I say I am just being honest.

And I have privacy fence around the whole back yard where shop is. I also hook up trip wires thru out my shop with 12 ga. blanks, and have motion detectors that sound alarms in house when I am not out there. I leave crap laying everywhere in plain sight , but most folks know its a risk to cross the fence or gate. Even my cat won't go in the shop if I am not in it. He set off a trip wire and and about chit. The ole gal here told me one day she got shot, she went to get a screw driver opened the door and "BAM" yep, she shut the door and waited till I got home.:D

Such a nice system, but it's really over priced. He must've had that lying around for a while since they're not making them as a kit anymore.

For the cost of that kit alone with no batteries, I'll be into it for less WITH the two batteries. I'm planning on doing a full blown cost write up like I did for my DIY CO2 kit and I should be approximately $100 under what that kit costs.

Oh shoot I thought he just put the same thing together you have? Looks like you have all the same components, maybe just a different battery tray?

Correct. I have the ATO kit. But I used the description from their site to purchase and piece together the same kit, just for WAY less. So far, with what I've spent, I'm at $250. Not bad if I do say so myself.

Speaking of, I laid some paint on it last night and I should have it finished up later today:

    AD084018-081B-4C86-BC2A-9E203C4BDFB7.jpg

All the components received self etching primer and Rust-Oleum preventative rust coating followed by 3-4 coats of whatever black paint I had available. For the pieces that near the engine, I applied two thick coats of engine enamel.

For the top of the battery tie down bracket, I used the hammered spray paint and applied 3 thick coats:

    B98EAC9C-200A-456A-9B77-3F5CC3F915CC.jpg

It will be pretty warm today so everything should cure nicely in the garage. When I get home later, I will finish up painting the inside of the tray where the batteries will be seated. Ran out of time last night as I didn't want to "hot box" the garage with spray paint.

I'm nervous to test the truck at highway speeds without the CB drop tomorrow. We leave for the lake house in the morning and I have everything in case it gets worse and to remeasure the driveline for potential axle shims.

Caitlyn should be getting a good workout tomorrow as we have some boats to launch also. Should be able to test the aluminum drop hitch and see how well it works. I also have sold the ARB awning to someone 10 minutes from the lake house and have to drop it off. I can't wait for the foxwing to show up.

It'll just be nice since everything is already ran to that location and ready to go; work smarter not harder kind of thing. Plus, I really have no other option. The ARB compressor is on the passenger side tucked up by the firewall where the "typical" second battery tray would be and running into the cab behind the rear passenger seats is (1) annoying and (2) takes up a lot of storage space. The bed would just be annoying to have to COMPLETELY rewire the truck.

Thanks. Painting is all about the prep haha. I figure I would rather paint it myself and get it done in a day or two rather than waiting 10-12 weeks for a powdercoater..we all know how that shit went..

I really am nervous but excited about chasing and resolving the vibes. I just hope that removing the CB drop doesn't create more problems like more vibes or worse vibrations.

HaHa, not gunna say anything about the powdercoating,

curious to see what happens with the vibes as I don't remember what you are running for rear susp. and not going back to look.

My setup is same cb drop as you, stock 4leaf springs under the spring recall, 2"AAL, 1"block, 3* shim and the only vibe I get is from 0 to 10mph and is so slight if you weren't looking for it you wouldn't feel it.

Remember when chasing a vibe, if a change doesn't produce a difference, put it back before changing something else, or you can find yourself in a hole.

You know the rabbit hole thing.

I'll take my chances with painting it myself and installing it a some point break the time powder coating would be done. Granted I wouldn't go back to the same place, but still.

Dakar leaf pack with DK29XL AAL, shackle flip with stock length shackle, BAMF shock relocation and 12" Billies.

Excited to see. Will be heading out soon so I will see and report back.

I have everything with me to go back in just in case nothing changes. Thanks for the reminder though!!

If nothing changes, it could possibly be an unbalanced tire like @KaptainH said his might be. :notsure:

I saw that the other day in your thread. How many miles were on your when you finally changed them?

I plan on doing brakes maybe next year. I really wanna sort out the front coilovers and battery situation first. I'm torn between the brake company my engineer friend works for or EBC. I would like disc brakes all around too..

    Damn.

That's not bad. I feel like EBC is just paying for the name.

    Nice!!

So I still have some vibes from 55-60 but it's MUCH less; about half as bad.

I just dropped off the awning at the guy's house and I think we are going out on the boats after lunch. I'll remeasure the drivetrain before we leave today.
