Pelfrey of course. Aluminum with at least center hoops. If I can find someone to weld aluminum I'd like to add the outer hoops like yours.

Good choice! Love the center hoop then full hoops added later on. To me, full hoops look weird without the center hoop supports. Just my .02...but perhaps I am biased haha

I agree 100%. I think they should offer it as an option.

Wanted to and could have put it in tonight, but with lingering storms hanging overhead, I didn't want to rush. I want to take my time, snap some pics and do it right.

That said, like I mentioned before, we will be going up to the lake house this weekend. My father in law's side of the family is visiting. I'm not about that and need any and every excuse to avoid those people. So, this mod along with the axle shims is on my list to do for Saturday evening/night. It's supposed to rain up north where we will be but the truck conveniently fits in the garage up there. So, it's basically a perfect storm to avoid family and wrench on this bitch.

We will see how much actually gets done. The wife doesn't want to be left alone with her dad's side of the family, but if they're pissing everyone off and annoying us, my wife actually might help me get shit done on this pig. Funny how shit works

    Haha doubtful. Lazy unappreciative assholes..

If only you guys knew half the shit they pull. After certain "events", we thought they were done with the family. Out of no where they wanna come up from Mayberry (not actually) and be present. We're all trying to figure out what they want. Remains to be unseen for now. I'm leaving that detective work to my wife, mother-in-law and brother-in-law. It's just better if I'm left out and they all know that.

    Yes sir :hattip:

I think it's a cleaner look and I'm worried about dust, dirt and water getting into it and it looks like the cover should help somewhat better than just leaving it uncovered. That's my thought process anyways :notsure:

Yeah I saw a few guys leaving theirs off but that's just inviting more gunk to get in there. That cap has some foam lining that snugs up tight around the outside of the uni filter.

My new Pelfreybilt bumper came in yesterday, went by to take a look today and LOVE the powdercoating. So glad I got it powdercoated this time. Anyway, talked with the lead tech and he said he'd ride with me when I pick it up on Tuesday. His first thought was the wheel hub assembly. Still awaiting your results :p

I put my cover back on also. Since the pump has to be there it made it look cleaner to me with it on.

Good to know. I planned on putting it back on as it just looks cleaner as mentioned. I don't think there would be any airflow restriction, no? :notsure:

Nice brother! I hope this one survives a little longer haha!

There shouldn't be any more restriction considering how dense the factory foam filter was. I can hear my secondary air pump whistle now when I turn the engine off.

    :woot: whistle noises haha!

Curious to see how dirty it gets after a decent wheelin' trip. Just another thing to try and keep clean

Kurt is a really solid guy, even after his relative "fame". The whole cruiser crew is great for that matter.

Preparation for Operation: Avoid family has begun. Packed up all the tools for the mods happening this weekend. Honestly, for two items that can fit in the palm of your hand, there's a few tools needed:

    F0E73637-6E64-4743-9EC5-177D6E8B6498.jpg

Husky bag full of hand tools
    Jack
Jack stands (6-ton and 3-ton because lifted truck problems)
    Pry bar
    Tire chaulk
    Torque wrenches
    Angle grinder

U-bolts on the truck have been sprayed with PB blaster to soak overnight.

Brother-in-law and BIL's girlfriend are contributing to the operation. BIL has the need to go get some supplies for a workbench and BIL's girlfriend has to swap a driveshaft on her Jeep and it grenaded last weekend. Weo putting all our differences aside to help each other out and avoid the plague.

Snapped a pic of my next project I'm excited to delve into (non-truck related of course) :
