They raise the back of the seat where it bolts to the floor and assists with back problems. Helps greatly and makes driving it noticeably more comfortable. 10/10 would recommend.

Picked up an ECGS BRG/Race Driver tool and clamshell bushing removal tool from someone on TW. Used once and saved some $ versus buying new. This will be used a few times locally and once used, I will likely pass it along.

Just need the bushing and new axle seal and then time to git 'er done. Should take care of the remaining vibes. Not bad.

    :spending:

Came across these in my perusing today:

    https://www.dobinsonsdirect.com/pro...it-for-toyota-tacoma-and-tundra-2005-to-2018/

    Source: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...s-greasable-pins-and-bush-kit-2005-17.458013/

Thought it would be a good investment (1) in case the bolts are seized/rusted beyond belief like my u-bolts were and (2) to maintain the front bushings for years to come.

Have to get them in once delivered and the muffler BEFORE I do my annual "degrease and fluid film the undercarriage" event. It would NOT be fun to work under the truck after the fluid film is applied; for me or the muffler shop.

Lots to do and get done before old man winter fucks the Midwest..

    Got these delivered today:

Super fast shipping and great quality products.

@Bluegrass Taco this is what you need for your squeaks..

Saturday the wife and I have a walk for ALS so that day will be a wash. If the weather holds out, hopefully I can get these installed Sunday.

Still need to put my patches together for a sale so I can hopefully buy some baja designs fogs and perhaps the ECGS bushing and seal. Gonna shoot for next Saturday for the muffler hopefully as well.

    Welp, that went awesome..but didn't:

    5C1BBE18-4BCA-4D78-9FCA-D27ABC1572BF.jpg

Old bushings are too seized at least for me to get done in the 1.5-2 hours I had this morning. Didn't even get to the other side. Just put everything back together and called it.

I think eventually I will upgrade the rear suspension AGAIN..and get some of @Blackout14 HD leaf packs and either Archive or hammar hangars and re-invert the shackles. I'll save these bushings provided they will fit :notsure: but I think the dimensions are the same? @Blackout14

I have a torch just not sure the gas levels. Might need to grab another one and have an extra set a hands to do both at once.

I thought about burning them out. I was just by myself. I will probably attack it again now that I know what I need. Thanks man!

I tried the pointed chisel bit from my broken air hammer that never worked after the shackle flip and a 2 lb sledge.

Something told me that after I posted this, 'Joe is going to tell me to use fire'. I just ran out of time but I'll give it another go, for sure.

I have a yellow fat boy torch btw, should work?

I know that an acetylene torch would probably make super quick work of it. But if I can ever find a welder Maybe I can borrow it while they're welding.

Loving it so far. Not too loud, but little throaty when you get on the gas but not drony. Definitely sounds different and will take some getting used to.

Happy I got something designed specifically for V6 trucks and didn't go with an option that would "over exhaust" the Tacoma. Glad I ditched the stock muffler as they said there were multiple rust spots that would not have lasted much longer

Any chance you can upload a sound clip whenever you get a minute? I’d love to hear it, as I’m in the market for a muffler as well!

Yes I can get a sound clip tomorrow with my DSLR and boom mic. I hope it will sound better on that than a cellphone.

Liking it more and more as we do errands, brother!!

Well, today didn't go as planned. Well kinda, but more spending is needed :angrygirl:

Met up with @Snowy today. Started to work on getting the cam tab gussets done and got about 90% torn down on one side when we discovered that the cam bolts were seized. So, the question now is how much money do I want to spend. I need new LCA's if I want this done. Sawzall the old shit out, weld the guessets in and bolt everything up.

    So stock or aftermarket?

I was not expecting this. I can either spend a couple hundred on Rock Auto or send it with aftermarket goodness. Maybe I can score some used ones at a good price.

Got everything bolted back up and spun the truck around and took care of the Dakar bushings with some fire!!!!!

    BC067D23-2822-4766-91DC-2FD4780E7767.jpg

Smelled fantastic. The worst part was the steel race sleeve that seemed seized in the eye, but Conner made them his bitch. :muscleflexing:

    7B8532A3-8936-4441-8FCE-612B40543F3C.jpg

Overall, happy that I got the bushings done finally and big, big thanks to Conner for all his help. Now, just need to figure out how much I wanna spend on LCAs.

Going to keep a close eye on the marketplace and see what comes up.

Don't worry, @Millerrj9 i didn't forget about you. I will do my best to get a sound clip some time during the week. Right now, it's time to relax and watch some hockey.
