I took my fiancé Overlanding in a ground tent, now that she sees pics of RTTs she says they are the coolest thing to do to a truck.

That was one thing my fiancé said when I asked if I could spend the money (we were saving for a house and a wedding at the time I purchased)

This weekend will just be in the backyard at the lake house, but she is still excited..baby steps

I'm sure if I bought one she wouldnt mind lol. But I use the roof racks too much to want a RTT on the truck, rather sleep on the ground and be able to carry a variety of things on the roof. Only way I'd get a RTT would be to put it on a trailer :futurespy: Plus the next big camp purchase I really want is a fridge!

    for :futurespy:

A trailer would be awesome! Right now I keep going back and forth between selling/not selling my tonneau and getting a cap. Just for the dog alone would be worth it.

Every person that has a cap loves it for one reason or another. They are so versatile in what you get out of them. I wouldn't have a truck with out one.

I definitely would like the windoors option to gain access to my gear easily. I just wish my bike (motorcycle) could clear them to make hauling it in the rain, if necessary, an easy task. Just have to hope I can sell my tonneau and fine a decent used one in good condition on Craigslist.

Last night I got the oil catch can from Neil installed thanks to the help of a few friends. It was pretty simple to install with the exception of finding a good place to mount it. Just had to buy some extra 3/8" hose to make the run.

I also got the ARB awning I purchased from Zach at PrInSu installed.

I will be using it this morning to provide some shade while we wait in the lot for our local 4th of July parade to start; which the truck will be in. I will snap some pics of it open and post them here.

    Thanks to Zach and Neil!

The craigslist hunt can be difficult as I've read on some cap threads. Mine was the very first thing I bought for the truck. Wasn't that informed about windoors at the time, so I plan on adding them in the near future. You may want to look into a soft topper, that way you could fold it down and carry your bike. I also was not to up to date on them 2 years ago and may have opted for that instead of the hard shell. But now my shell is hard wired with lights so theres no turning back lol

True it can be difficult. If I bought it new, I would want to sell the tonneau first to offset the cost of the new cap. This issue I have with the soft topper is that someone could come along and take a life to it and that would suck

I believe it is the 1250 "shorty version".

I bought it from @zscott and I checked the thread but there was no model info. Perhaps he can chime in.
