Yeah I got confused and thought the 251 came with a 18" bar. Some sites list it as such and this one is a 16" bar I'm sure. 18" would be nice and I might make the jump but definitely not the 20".

The 251 had handled everything so far and I'm happy, I just think I would have been happier with the farm boss.

    :spending::spending::spending:

Ordered quite a few things in the last few weeks and days:

    - I am thinking about moving the Maxtrax mounting to the spare tire. FUCK spending $150 on the spare tire mount from Maxtrax. Ordered some Rok Straps from eBay and I am going to test them out. Not sure how they will hold up on the highway, but for trail use, they should work well.

    - ARB EZ deflator - Knockoff one broke last trip and I got a refund. Used it to order the right equipment I should have the first time.

    - Need to get cracking on the foxwing mounting system. The brackets that came with the awning are cheap and would likely breaks. I wanted the Prinsu mounts, but they are expensive and wouldn't work with a RTT on the topper. Ordered some ARB awning mounts. Well, the ad never specified that it was a single mount. Had to order another one. Should show up tomorrow and then I can get to work on that.

    - Need to piece together a "Chainsaw Go-bag" - Ordered the following: Milwaukee large heavy duty tool bag, new gas can spouts because FUCK the CA rated shit, polarized safety glasses, cheap ear muffs, and clear safety glasses. I already have eyes and ears for my range go-bag, however, I didn't want to have to go back and forth between bags and then forget something. I always go with 2-3 people to the range and a lot of times and they don't pew pew. So, I am the supplier of eyes and ears.

My chainsaw go-bag will include the following:

    - chaps
    - safety glasses; clear and polarized
    - ear protection
    - leather gloves
    - sharpeners
    - small hatchet
    - Fiskars hand pull saw (coming soon)
    - 2-stroke oil
    - wedge
    - chainsaw maintenance tool kit
    - bar oil
    - 2-lb hand sledge for wedge work (coming soon)

I will also throw in a spare chain or two once I decide if/when I want to jump to the 18" bar or not. (Most likely will in the near future)

Throw the bag over my shoulder, chainsaw in one hand and the gas/oil mix can in the other. Grab and go. Always ready to kick some ass.

    - Lastly, I have been eyeing the shit out of BAMF's bumper support brackets. I like how they clamp the bumper to the frame. I have Brute Force Fab brackets already, however, BAMF!!Yesterday, there was a deal of the day on them and I saved $20. Got the email that my brackets shipped out this morning!

Slowly going from a mish mosh of several vendors to BAMF:

SOS shackle flip bracket -> BAMF
    ATO shackles -> BAMF
Brute Force Fab bumper support brackets -> BAMF

    Current BAMF list:

LCA skids, shock relocation, shackles, shackle hangers, front bumper support brackets, DIY shackle hanger crossbrace with a BAMF sticker and [TECHNICALLY] Front and rear bumpers, full skids

    not SPONSORED BY BAMF!!

Still need a kick in the dick to order my Deavers.

    Happy Friday's Eve everyone!

My 23Zero awning came with a set of simple angle brackets (wish I would have known that before ordering the Prinsu!). Anyway, they are yours if you want to arrange to get them.

    Dick kicking is my specialty.

Actually, my Deavers are still laying on the floor of my garage. I don't think I'm going to need them until my new high-clearance rear bumper with swingout gets (delivered) installed.

I will probably add the shitty brackets it came with for added peace of mind. These ARB brackets are nice though for sure. I will pick up your Deavers. What's the ETA on the bumper and which one did you go with?

Imo the brute force brackets are better. BAMF has a cool design but all the force from a winch pull is still supported by the welds on that front cross member, whereas the brute force ones tie further back into the frame.

Took care of some things on the truck already this morning:

    - swapped the old crusty swingout latch bolt for all stainless hardware

    C7B65579-CE87-4AC5-84C0-E0F91D8EEAF6.jpg

At an event last weekend, I had the swingout open and the table folded down and I noticed that if I wanted to use it as a cook/prep surface or workbench, I would have to do some tweaking:

    BEFORE
    BB322ABC-474A-44A4-8067-55A098DF7F0A.jpg

    AFTER
    B8F79EA7-0FE7-4213-86CC-A4C0713666B0.jpg

I'm guessing that since this is an earlier model bumper, some things were tweaked and when they sent me the "bumper refresh kit" for a newer style bumper.

    - Lastly, rok straps FTMFW!!! Climbing up on the rig to place the maxtrax can be tricky; especially when alone and with 4 stacked boards. It could also be a pain when you need them often and don't want to climb up and down constantly. Now, I was looking into the spare tire mount, but for $150 I don't know that it's worth it. Enter rok straps!!!

These were $18.99 (?) on eBay or Amazon and I have to say that I am PLEASANTLY surprised. They attach easily to the swingout and spare tire mounting system and through the spare tire. I can't say how they would hold up at highway speeds, but on the trails I have no doubt they would be fine.

Threw the trasharoo over for maximum EAF while parked in the driveway :transformer:

    448E06CD-6A08-4264-8532-0BCDAF4B7062.jpg

I am VERY pleased with the result. I tested shaking the boards and they did not move. The spare, swingout and entire rig moved by shaking the boards only.

I ordered up the CBI front and rear. The front is the Moab 2.0 with full hoops and in aluminum. The rear is the Bushmaster 2.0 (high clearance) with dual swing outs.

They’re due to be complete in mid-October.

Got kicked in the dick HARD with reality and have the strong desire to get out and overland/offroad more. Got kicked so hard that I ordered my Deaver u402 Stage III's from Headstrong.

Got two trips coming up in September and I will need to be fully loaded and the Dakars will not suffice.

    :D:yay::goingcrazy:

BTW, I didn't see an option to have the leafs powder coated. Maybe I can call Marie...

Going to start on the firewood shed project this weekend. I need to get this going so I can move the firewood where it is located now, to the future firewood shed so that we can have someone survey the backyard for the actual shed that's going to be hopefully going in before winter.

Got all this cleaned up in about 20 minutes:

    upload_2019-8-6_20-4-3.jpg

I need to dig up some roots this week, but not bad so far. This was covered with buckthorn and remanence of some old bushes and some chicken wire fencing from the previous owners. I also need to finish clean up on the property as we have a ton more buckthorn, smaller trees, bushes and bush root systems that all have to come out. However, I can't commit to cutting that down without somewhere to store the wood.

Found these plans online complete with shopping and cutting lists:

    https://www.construct101.com/firewood-shed-plans/

Still waiting for quotes to come in from two other tree removal services. I think one came today or is coming tomorrow. :notsure:

Same. I was trying to draw up my own but the hardest part is the shopping list.

This one was close to the style, size and design I was looking for. Just gonna send it.
