Thank goodness for headstrong offroad. Crazy how ordering from the best (west) coast is cheaper than anyone else locally.

Nice!! I think you'll be happy with everything once you get the Deavers too. Our trucks are going to be even more alike.

Meant to tell you the other day. Anytime I'm on Instagram and I am on one of your posts, the wife asks if that's my truck. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

    Sad weekend :pout:

Got nothing done on the rig (not surprised). Was going to try to either work on the BAMF bumper brackets or finishing up the shed but ended up going to the wife's friend's BBQ. Was a fun time for sure and hope to see them all again soon.

The sad part of the weekend was that I had to drop the MS251 off at the local Stihl dealer/repair for warranty work. On Saturday, the BIL and I got half the tree cut down. An incoming storm and the fact that he didn't have a ladder impeded much progress. As I finished cutting the rest of the tree into burnable sizes, the rain started coming down.

Kind of regretting not getting the 271 I initially wanted. That's what I get for trusting my friend of 25 years? I kept tossing the chain from the bar on Saturday and half of the chain tensioner screw sheered off while trying to get the proper tension in the saw. I also felt that the 251 just didn't have the power needed for most of the job. Idk. I could be wrong.

Everything should be covered under warranty but I am a little surprised I haven't heard anything back from the dealership yet. Hopefully I am reunited with my new favorite toy soon. Sucks because I had planned on getting some wood cut, split and stacked this week to start drying out.

Hoping to get cracking on finishing up the rear suspension this weekend. We'll see.

ALL the damn feels right now...

I followed up with the Ace Stihl dealer as I had not heard anything since dropping it off on Sunday morning; 48-56 hours and nothing! I called this morning and the tech that is fixing my saw said that he had to talk to the guy that filled out the order (don't know why the fuck he didn't know what was going on). I JUST received a call back from the tech and said that they are waiting on the part to come in and hopefully it will be ready to go early next week.

Guess it's a good time to get the Deavers, BAMF shackles and BAMF bumper brackets done.

    Bummer.

I think there is something up with Stihl chain saws. I bought the MS171 last year. It would start perfectly within 3 pulls when new. After about the third or fourth use, it takes 15-20 pulls to get the damn thing to start and run. I only run Stihl pre-mixed fuel from the metal can, and flush the tank if the chain saw sits more than a few months between starts. WTF!

Same here. Stihl bar oil and Stihl premium mix.

Last weekend was my third use. It has seen fairly moderate use all 3 times. I forgot to count how many pulls last weekend but it fired on the 4th I believe. We didn't even get to the full tree. Partially the weather, partially the saw and partially the BIL not having an adequate ladder. We only got about half way done so I have to go back again, but I didn't want to continue not being able to tension the chain properly. I am hoping to go back in the fall to finish up the tree, however, as the BIL wants to light the outhouse on fire up there and have a party. I might have my buddy come along that has been helping with the willow at our house since he does this stuff for a living. Two saws makes all the difference.

After last weekend, I am really considering selling my 251 and getting a 271 with a 20" bar. Or just keep the 251 and get a 271. The power just wasn't there.

To be honest, I wasn't sure how much I would ever use the saw, but I am regretting not getting what I wanted from the start.

Is it Saturday yet? I wouldn't be sitting at my desk if it was. In fact, I will probably be starting that project around this time Saturday.
