All they had was the red when I got mine. Upsized my box a couple years ago, currently waiting for my shop to go up so I can quit working
outta the garage. I really need an orange box.....

Nice man. Black seems to be the most sold out color; I am happy with the green but my brother wants the green and I don't mind swapping with him (what are brother's for?).

I'm excited to finish up the rest of the workshop (area behind the garage bay) and getting my bigger box, cabinets setup etc.

    That thing is a BEAST!!

I hope to have a shop one day. I want a heated/AC insulated place with enough room to work on the truck with all the tool goodies.

Thanx bro. Those pics were quite a while ago, it's even more full.

It'll happen for ya if you want it to. But it will nice to have a dedicated place to work.....instead of outta the garage and on the floor.

Couple hundred dollars later, an hour or so of time and I have a working garage door opener again. Dude cut me a deal; new lift, sensors, exterior keypad, a garage door tune up, and even hauled away the old shit.

He said when I'm ready for a new insulated door, to let him know too and he'd cut me a deal on a door. I'm thinking spring if doable.

Sometimes the suck isn't so bad..

    Take that however you want..

    Truck dilemma:

So, I reached out to Trail Toys again this morning regarding their UHMW gas tank skid plates to see if his laser jet guy has been able to get any skid plates cut out. He read the message, but there has been no reply (second or third time this has happened; reads the message but doesn't respond). It is unfortunate because I was really interested and excited to try out one of these UHMW skids. I have been keeping my eye on them for a long time.

The problem, now, is that Black Friday is coming up and I would like to get something ordered so that I can get the truck back and be able to wheel it again.

I am looking at BAMF and Mobtown skids now:

    https://www.bayareametalfab.com/2005-2020-Toyota-Tacoma-Gas-Tank-Skid-_p_146.html

    https://mobtownoffroad.com/product/2005-2020-toyota-tacoma-fuel-tank-skid-plate/

I am thinking about going with aluminum so that this issue doesn't happen again. BAMF is $325 for an aluminum plate and Mobtown is $225.

Does anyone have any other recommendations? Thoughts on going with the aluminum versus steel?

I normally hate RCI but their fuel tank skid looks like it would do the job well. $270 for raw aluminum and protects the bolt heads decently well. It doesn't have that ramp at the front of the skid like some others do but that wouldn't be a deal breaker IMO.

That does look like a nice piece, Bae. I wonder how much of a hinderance it would be without that front ramp piece; especially if a rock gets wedged in there. It looks like they already have a 15% off coupon code too...

I don't understand why companies stop responding or just don't seem to want the sale. I get if you need a little time, but communicate how long it will take and what's going on. It's just disrespectful, as a company, to simply not respond.

I think I will give it until the end of this week and then start sorting through other options.

It is what it is, I guess..

    UPDATE:

    Received a response:

"Looks like the waterjet guy is going to have some time to help me out soon. Give me a few days to setup a time to get them cut."

It is not much of a response, but it is something. "Soon" and "few" are subjective terms....

Doing TWSS this year (per usual) and that means I'm actually going to be decorating the house this year too. I put in a special request for my wish list and two people already delivered!

Well, it has been a week. I think that fulfills "few" and "soon", no? Again, being subjective terms....

I reached out to Nathan again, one more time, but I am still not hopeful. I am not trying to be a d!ck or be disrespectful in any way, but seeing as how I originally reached out 10/8/2020 (ALMOST TWO MONTHS AGO!!!) I think I have been more than reasonable....

I think the plan is this; Give him until Wednesday at the latest and then go through the following companies:

    1) RCI Aluminum (15% off) - Missing front ramp; concerning
    2) Mobtown Aluminum; maybe steel
    3) BAMF Steel

The problem is that the UHMW skid is inexpensive and a good price given that my door opener just needed replacing. However, the Black Friday sale pricing should offset it nicely. I am tired of waiting and now is the time to purchase items and get the best possible pricing all year.

Does anyone else have any other company they recommend?

I know SOS makes one and their sale is 25% off. No experience with it tho, just saw the sale.

    Oh right, update.

Supposedly, I will be able to place the order for the UHMW gas tank skid this weekend.

DCSB is $160 shipped if I'm not mistaken.

He doesn't employ a water jet guy so it takes some time to get them made; for example, I've been waiting to order one since 10/8/2020.
