Cleaned up. I want to clean up the ABS sensor mount and mount the sensors but I don't want them to break or whatever. Chased the caliper bracket mounting threads too. WD-40 penetrating fluid works really well to clean the threads of paint:

    TL ; DR..no one cares...

I have had mine a couple months...I have it at a buddy's shop right now getting new cvj axles, cam tab gussets, 16 inch coil springs and the ecgs bushing installed. When I get it back installing the gusseted spindles and Randy's old armor plated lca's. Then it's time for the rear...

Need to do the cam tab gussets and the ECGS bushing, too.

Welders are hard to come by however.

Oh shit. Nice. Took my local 4x4 shop 2 years to get gas for their welder...so, that's why I want to get my own setup.

    wanna be mods
I'll be careful how I post the review of this install...so far the truck is still up on the lift since Sunday midday which was the initial learning curve effort, involving the passenger side coilover preload, pinch weld beating, and spindle swap. Neighbor needed to cut his 5ac of grass, so we followed up with a quick 1hr session later Sunday evening. Then we were back at it last night for a few hours of evening work getting the drivers side finished up.

So far I have run into issues with the gusset and abs and brake line bracket fitment = busted out the angle grinder to allow brake and abs side mounting to spindle triple hole spot (the gusset was protruding out too far, and I don't want to try to play bend it, but don't break it).

Now we've run afoul with the brake rotor and the shield rubbing the due to the aft side gusset pressing on the shield. That has forced the opposite end of these to rub about the last inch or so. 20210712_224137.jpg 20210712_224143.jpg Sooooo after confirming my game plan with Randy early today, looks like this evening = pulling back apart both hubs, rotors, and the shields. Then cutting back the area outlined below...

THAT SAID, much like the Messiah, Rando has been a constant presence albeit via messaging. What a good teacher, he's been filling the void of taco-know-how inside my head! He even was showing off some artistic talents in order to show me where abouts to start the initial cut (I added the orange for cutting direction/for folks like me!) Screenshot_20210713-075911_DuckDuckGo.jpg

In all honesty, I probably should:
    1. Disclose that I am still physically limited with my shoulder surgery recovery & trying to balance toddler time vs or in lockstep with Taco mod time, definitely didn't account for this last aspect!
    2. I should've really mulled over the gusset threads and likely would've been better prepared to make the mods while doing this initial swap...but you know what they say about trial and error being the best teacher!
I'm sure you are more versed and profient mod'er, but good luck and learn from my misteps!

Thanks for the information! All hail Rand.

It's funny that I was going to lay everything out one day this week and get an idea of how everything would mount up and see what would need to be trimmed/"modified".

I do have new OEM dust shields to install as well. Seems like a good idea to see how everything will mount up and assure that everything clears.

I wasn't going to necessarily bench assemble everything to go in as one unit (cumbersome) but I would about bolting everything up ahead of time to plan everything I could off the truck so it's ready to go in on mod day once piece by piece.

@EatSleepTacos which gusset kit did you use again?

On the ones Greg installed, I had the TC gussets. Those required the trimming.

I currently have JD gussets and no splash guards at all.

Mine are from CaliFab on Instagram.

I'm wondering what the cons are for me to remove them being a daily driver.

True. I'm sure cutting a window into the dust shield isn't THAT much better; to be honest.

Bolt checks have had some positive "experience". Sounds/issues are easier to recognize and solve as well as knowing what side of the truck it is on.

+5 internet points if you can find what I found wrong this evening:

    Held on with zip ties

    Because racetruck.

    Responses below:

You're supposed to put them in backwards.

You're not wrong. See above. ABS bracket bolt so rusted it disintegrated.

    Buy me one.
