She does know she just didn't like the idea of more spending. Came into some money recently (won't say why, how much, or anything) but it helped our wedding fund out significantly and I decided to celebrate a little bit. Her reply was that I need to go wheelin' more (God I love this woman) to get my money's worth out of some mods coming. So I took that as a green light :notsure: I have always said it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission

Also, pay attention Scooter :smack:I got the CAI in today and shocks coming in next week..I think I'm good for a while. Next will be :sawzall:

Already somewhat frustrated with the snorkel :frusty:

My brother found something similar to this on a Facebook FJ page where the person put window screen mesh over the ram grill opening to prevent bugs, leaves etc from getting into the snorkel:

    alphaecho2k5-albums-t4r-picture30519-sno_3e9825aa4f9b9ba7032d51d3482ee56108bc3e10.jpg

Safari must have changed the design a couple years ago  because the newer style ram air grill is not removable from the head like the one picture here:

    dscf5333-jpg_fc44d1249b7065fd784bc50d76ea4cb04c27b965.jpg

So this morning I had to make another purchase:annoyed:

I placed and order for one of these TEQ snorkel grills. Not too sure I like it, especially in brushed stainless, but I figured I would just plasti-dip it black and that would clean it up a bit or just attach it over the stock one and sandwich in a sheet of window screen mesh. Here is the link to the product as well as the how to video; not sure I like that I have to cut up the rain air head already just to be able to protect the engine more! Why did they change the design?!?!

    Weekend updates/photo dump!

Went on a Christmas tree run yesterday as the fiancée wanted to surprise her parents with a real tree:

Got some mud on the tires too

Took the dog in for pictures with Santa:

Stole this from TW's IG page

Here is what it should look like when completed:

Few major things done while is was nice out (45*) today:

First up was an oil change. Didn't do it myself but I took it in. Tech under the truck thought it was a Jeep from the underside but was surprised when he came up to take a look. Went to harbor freight and got a few items for the snorkel and the shackle flip; bigger step bits, loctite, some windscreen mesh and a new drill set :woot:

After who knows how long, my 40" Heretic LED bar from @RADTACO is finally wired up and many thanks to @GARSHA91!!

Wired up my LED strip to light up the tailgate area on trips :D

I need to change both diff's fluid soon..I was told I am just over Toyota's recommended mileage of 18k..hope the cold holds off a little longer or I'll have to take it in :pout:

The next few weeks I will be waiting on parts to come in and prepping the snorkel; installing the threads with loctite, installing the new TEQ ram grill and mesh, making sure I have enough piping and hosing to plumb the snorkel; simple items. Still have to source a hole saw from a local OffRoad club perhaps or just purchase my own..exciting few weeks coming for sure! :woot:

Dealers and these lube shops alike just try to get you with everything they can. They prey on the people who don't know and use scare tactics.
I'm almost positive that the diffs are every 30k
