I'd just want to have a buyer lined up for this one first to help offset the cost instead of spending the money and having the PB skid sit there. I reached out to Nathan. I wonder if he's back from Moab yet.

So, I'm going to assume this is due to the angle of the gas tank now, but the fuel gauge is slightly off (about a quarter tank).

I was careful when dropping it so nothing got tweeked, but, I was in a parking lot with no tools or jack. I was more focused on getting the tank up and strapped than replicatibg the angle of the tank from stock.

Safe to say once the new brackets are in, the gauge will read correctly?

Fingers crossed. For now I recommend going off the trip gauge. I fill up every 200-220 miles and have 1/4 tank left.

I’ve been doing that for three years now since my fuel gauge doesn’t work. Trip gauge works like a charm. :D

There's 3 major concerns I have right now. In order from most to least, as follows:

    1) O'Reilly's fucks me and doesn't get the part or gets the wrong part

    2) The gas gauge issue isn't resolved..pricey fuck up

    3) the install goes awry; barring any more unforseen circumstances, it shouldn't be an issue.

    Cross your dicks boys...

Heard from Nathan (Facebook is good for SOME things...). His water jet guy is away at another job site, so I would be a few weeks out on the UHMW skid.

Still going to have the order setup and placed regardless. I will grab those Spectra Stainless steel straps in a few weeks once I hear from Nathan and then, never have to worry about this issue again.

    UPDATE:

This morning, I drove the short distance to the gym before work, and the gauge is fluctuating as I drive it; a positive sign. Worked out, came home and checked the ratchet straps and tightened it one click. The gauge reading might have been from the strap being loose in the front, thus, sitting more level (stock).

Also, got the PB blaster out and sprayed the bolts for the old straps. About to sign into work and go spray them again right now and continually throughout the day.

There are others out there. Yes, they work very much like resetting the odometer and keeping an eye on it except these can actually trigger an alarm that you set at whatever level you want to be reminded at.

These look like more work than just fixing my fuel gauge lol really I just don't want to drop the tank. That's where my issue lies. It's something to do with the fuel pump/sending unit.

It's really not bad. My lack of motivation is just because it's such a non issue. I've been going off the trip meter for 3 years now with no issues.

I've only had one close call after a weekend of beach driving. I fueled up and put 20.5 gallons into a 21 gallon tank.
