Change in plans. I decided to mount the Bridgestone Duelers that came on the Trail rims on my stock wheels. Figured that street tire, AKA Barbie Corvette tires @Sig45 :D would serve me better on the stockers.

Zero issues with the 265/70/17 tire size on the stock Sport wheel....even with 15 mm less offset.

The Trail rims deserve something with a bit more testosterone to them.

Sneak preview, as I only have 2 Duratracs at the moment. The other 2 will follow soon.

Those Pros are probably quite a bit lighter too

Yes they did. But you have an excellent wheel with the Pros though.

Weight isn't as big a deal with the 4.0.

Looks great. Where did you get the tires from and if you don't mind sharing, how much?

I read you guys said they were heavy... heavier than FJ steelies!? I’ve been running fj steelies for a while now and was thinking of switching it up back to alloys. There is a set for sale near me for a decent price. I’m thinking of running 255/75/17. Any one run that size tire? I have a 2.5 OME/bilstien lift with HD dakars.

Not sure what the FJ steelies weigh. The Trails weigh just over 31 lbs.

You'll have no issues with that tire width. But your adding another half an inch of sidewall...meaning .25" more toward the cab mount area vs a 265/70 /17 and about 1.5"....or .75" toward the mount vs the stock 265/65/17 size.

This is just a guess on my part....but I figure you'll need, at the least, remove your front mudgaurds.

Here's a pic of the Trails with a 265/70/17 tires...front tires. The 1st pic is with the wheel straight. The 2nd is with the wheel turned a bit to the left....which is about as close as it gets on my particular rig.

Replaced the stock alloys running winter tires with 4Runner Trail wheels and 265/70/17 Falken Wildpeaks. Used a new Dewalt DCF-899 impact driver to make the job go quicker. The results:

Took it for a test drive. Slightly more road noise with the windows down. No vibrations up to 50 mph. Minimal rubbing on the front passenger side near full lock. Bending the small plastic shield in front of the tire took care of most of the rubbing. Getting the right clips to hold the mud flap back will take care of the rest of the rubbing.

    Plane Jane Taco,
Off the main topic, but curious if your Taco TRD came with white mirrors and door handles?
Love the look, like to change mine out!
    The rims are sweet
