Gen 2 Overhead CB

Has anyone mounted an overhead CB in a Gen 2? I'd like to put a CB up there, replacing one of the compartments for sunglasses, was just wondering if anyone had done it yet.

I haven't purchased or decided on a CB yet, so I am not locked into a size.

 

Cobra 75 is probably your best bet. The whole shit is in the handset:

Putting a fullsize CB up there would be a pain in the ass...there's nothing terribly solid to mount to, so you'd probably need to fab something and somehow work it in around the stock trim. That'd be more work than hooking up the CB :\

i been looking at that radio to upgrade from a single band 2meter. does the lack of backlit buttons bother you on that radio?

 

I imagine you could mount a smaller compact radio like a Cobra 19 up there but yeah there isn't much to grab onto. I say go for it!

Edit: that ham radio install is CLEAN!

 

Not really, the hand held microphone has all the buttons you need, and that is lit. I like the radio.
