    Hi All,

Was originally planning to do a build thread on my 2012 Tacoma Baja but Monday morning at 2:12 AM a drunk driver decided to take my baby away from me and damage my house as well.

This is what it looked like before:

    And After:

Here is a link to the security cam footage of the whole thing:

    https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_uK06IuZ2PHV1hTd3dKTGFCZzAzb1RNeEh4eUdqa1pBaU9B

Any ways, I guess i should stop crying and get to my question. I am trying to figure out if the suspension parts on the Gen 2 and the Gen 3 are interchangeable? I am trying to see what I can salvage and keep for when I get paid and get a new taco. I want to know if I can use my Dakar leafs, baja suspension (since I put on the 700lb springs and toytec spring seat), and the ICON upper control arms. If anyone know please let me know as I need to figure things out since my insurance is claiming that they might not pay for all the aftermarket items.

Ps. the driver ran and is an illegal immigrant and the passenger, the owner of the van, had fake tags and no insurance so I am screwed all around.

Thanks for the help and sorry if it's a stupid question but in my search it looked like some of the parts had the same product numbers.

Ouch that's rough. You have/had a great looking truck!
As for the parts swapping, I believe the suspension is the same, you should be able to re-use it all. I know the 3rd gens sit a little higher in the travel from stock so some places are making new part #'s for the 3rd gens granted 2ng gen suspension parts will bolt up.

Also found this which will help - https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/yes-2nd-gen-suspension-will-work-on-a-3rd-gen.394631/

Thanks @eccracer104 for the response. I will have to get under the car today so I can see what is still usable then. :)

Yup just glad my wife and daughter weren't home that night and when the van started leaking gas it didn't go up in flames. So it could have been a lot worse.

Lets hope so for ruining an awesome truck and putting the lives of innocent people in danger.

Odds are they are fine. When you are drunk you are relaxed so when you crash you don't tense up. Less damage to the drunk person.

The driver ran so I am not sure but the passenger didn't have his seatbelt and you can see in the video where his head hit the windshield. He is lucky the dash stopped him from going through or he would have ended up being an ornament on my roof rack.

Pedro and jose will get in no trouble. But if billy bob or tommy did it, they'd rot in jail for a year and pay a ton of fines. Maybe trump is on to something.
