2015 Gen 2 wheel question, I have a set of 265/70R17 tires that I was going to mount on the original wheels but have the opportunity to purchase a set of nice black mag wheels with a +40 offset, from what I have seen the OEM wheels are +30, has anyone tried the +40, could there be a problem with the tire rubbing?

Looks like you'll be around .40 closer to the uca... not sure of any other issues.

17x8 +40 is a little more than a 6” backspace. Don’t think that’ll work. 5.5 is amount max backspace on these trucks and that tight.

The oe wheels are 7” wide which makes a huge difference.

The OEM Wheels are 7.5'' wide, with a +30mm off set, going to a +40mm is only .393'' more. I did not go with the new wheeles, not because of the additional 10mm off set but they were not humcentric (OEM 106.1mm and the new ones 109mm) therefore all the force would have been on the studs rather than the hub, I do too much rough backwoods roads to trust that.
    Thank for your input though.

7.5 +30 offset is approx 5.5” back space. The 8 +40 offset is approx. 6.07” back space. The 6” back space is the issue. You’re forgetting the the extra 1/4” because the new wheel is 1/2” wider. It’s actually a little more than a 1/2” further in.
