My wife and I have an old house with a below grade garage / basement. We have to park our vehicles front-to-back, vs. side by side, to get both vehicles into the garage. Inconvenient at times, but we have lived with it forever.

Previously owned a 2007 Gen 2 DCLB. Just ordered a 2017 TRD Sport DCLB and was concerned it might be too long or too tall for our unorthodox garage. Dealer told me that the Gen 3 was 4" longer than the Gen 2 and let me drive one home to test the fit. Fortunately the Gen 3 fit with my wife's car, a Corolla.

My question is, where is that 4" difference going from a Gen 2 to Gen 3? Is it in the bed, cab, engine compartment, or . . . ?

Just idle curiosity, in case someone knows off the top of his/her head.

    In front of the radiator.

Pedestrian crumple zone for low speed impacts. It's literally air space between the radiator and front bumper.

Probably from the grill. My 3rd gen feels like it has less leg room. But it could just
    Be the crap seats

The 3rd Gen tailgate is at least 2 inches thicker than the 2nd Gen.

And this ^^ The pics I want to post to illustrate the thicker rear would get me slapped around by the ban hammer.

Edit: You've got a garage big enough to park the Tacoma & a 4 door sedan in tandem?! :worthless:

Yeah, our "garage/basement" is below grade and the house, with the full length and width dimensions of the house. We get both our vehicles in with 3' - 4' to spare. But not a lot of room, height and width, to spare in the garage part. Funky arrangement, but it works.

Next owner (we've been here 47 years) will scrape the house down and build a mega-house on this 11K+ square foot lot.

I forgot other people may live outside of Texas and garages are slim pickins. This is pretty standard here for any size/level of house. We're spoiled, I guess.

since OP lives in Seattle, I would say 11,000 sq feet lot is pretty big size, and an Asian person $$$$ will tear it down and build a large house, when OP sells it

And since you are in BC, you know all about the foreign $$$ and the real estate prices in Vancouver....

Not a whole lot of work here on the East Coast, and a bunch of snow, but real estate is cheap. I have this, sitting on a 4 million square foot lot. :)
