agreed. I’m sure material and labor cost has gone up but I was shopping for some and the cost to ship turned me off as well (no fault of the fab shops)

I’ve got metaltech 4x4 sliders, about 8-900 iirc - near Portland Oregon - pre-painted, and no wait time

Sorry, to get back so late, I was out of town. I ordered mine way back in September. At the time, they were quoting 3 months build time, but now I see it's down to 3 weeks. My only guess is that the holidays have screwed up ship times. As for the install, I wish is had another person to help me. It would have been simple. I used a floor jack and some jack stands. On each side, there are things mounted to the frame you will have to remove. Two or three bolts, some of which have frame-welded square nuts on the back of the the frame, it's pretty simple.

The sliders are shipped in separate boxes, one of which will have all the hardware. There are no install instructions. I watched a couple of youtube videos that were specific to the RRW install. Tacomaholic has one. I think the other was Dirt Nation.

The hardware that comes with the sliders has been upgraded to Grade 8. 14 bolts, 14 nylock nuts and 28 washers. There are numerous cutouts in the sliders to account for variations in the frame surface, I.E. cable-run holders, dimples, etc. This makes it impossible to mount incorrectly. There are three tabs that fold under the bottom of the frame. Your frame only has one hole for the center one. You will have to drill holes in the frame for the tabs on either end. This was not as difficult as I thought it would be. You just need a decent drill and the proper bit. Mine is an ancient Dewalt battery unit. It did the job. I may have ruined the bit as I did not use drilling oil, but I got there.

I can't imagine installing these and not drilling. It seems like a much more secure set up with those bolts in. I put 5 bolts in the driver side and 7 in the passenger. I may go back and drill two more holes in the driver side, but it seems pretty solid right now. As the videos show, get all the bolts in place and then start cranking them down. I used Blue Locktite (BLU 242) on the threads, mostly because I had it lying around. I would not use red locktite. Blue, you can get the sliders back off with hand tools. Red requires power tools and/or heat.

It's not a really difficult install, just a pain in the ass if you are by yourself. Good Luck.

One other thing: RRW shipped mine via Pilot Freight. I got emails from RRW when it shipped and a phone call from PF a day or two before delivery. I asked PF to have the driver call me one hour before deliver so I could be back at my apartment when he showed up. He did not get here until about 7pm but was super helpful in unloading and even moved his truck for me so I could be closer to the cargo elevator.

Avid off-road weld on sliders on mine. I bought them from a buddy- new never opened. I think he said they were $400ish shipped. Obviously, weld on is cheaper but man they are strong. From bouncing off rocks and trees, my rockers and doors are dent free.

Set your own angle, these are just about maxed out, set it about 1/2” from bottom of door when opened, to clear.

For those of you that have them or are planning to get the white knuckle off road sliders check out these pics. They are very high quality welds, tubing is thick, but there are only 3 legs that come off the slider and mount to the frame. I believe 6- 1/2 grade 8 bolts mount them up. I bent the slider the first trail I did which was Pontiac sluice in big bear Ca. The owner did stand behind his product and replaced my slider that got bent, I have since added a few extra bolts to the slider and have yet to bend it a second time. It bent far enough to bend my pinch weld in 3 spots. The sliders sit roughly 5/8” away from the pinch seem.

Got mine in from Warfab Armor today. Good welds etc etc. DOM Bolt ons were $700 to my door for the Patton sliders. $200 was shipping , which has nothing to do with the builders.

I agree with you on everything. Too bad they didn’t do a full length plate to match up with the frame like other builders do.

Budbuilt will be my next set of sliders.

I know I'm dumb, but I can't see the difference between the Warfab "Patton" and "Abrams" sliders?

Got any more pics of them? I’m torn between RCI and those! RCI seems thicker (little more expensive) but also shorter 78” vs 85”.

You guys are making me consider Bud Built. Hadn't heard of them before I read this thread. He has the advantage of being fairly close to me too (~4H). I am looking for sturdy, "real" sliders, as opposed to "decorative".

I’d like to know what brand sliders would be the tightest, least protruding sliders.
