    Don't be a hater, the Nissan is a good truck and comes standard with a bunch of options that makes the Taco cost 5-7 grand more. Thy do need a body update though, it's been the same since 05.

    Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
    ...^^^... "J-Cars" (Japan built) vs "NA Made Cars (US & Mexico)" = no comparison = "J-Cars" made in Japan are highest in quality ... ask any Toyota or Lexus dealer for details ... maybe your FJ was a "J-Car" ??

    I prefer the objective option; and I've owned both and can be honest. Some people just want to think what they have is the best. The Tacoma is a great truck that holds its value and that is it's best attribute. It it had more power and better field mileage, I.E, a 4 cyl turbo diesel it would be the bees knees.

    The Ridgeline ISNT a truck, real trucks don't have unibodys! Ridgeline if for your wife to go get plants from lowes or put Johnnys longboard in the back.

    Ridgeline is a truck. Sure it's not a macho truck but what I can respect about the Ridgeline is that Honda doesn't try pretend it is something that it is not. Some people want a crossover/SUV/Car-ish ride with a carbo box. I wouldn't ever get a Ridgeline but I certainly see how they would work for some people.

    I'm not disputing your statement, Honda makes a great vehicle, owned them too, but it's no truck. Try putting a pallet of tile in the back and see what happens.

    Yeah Tacoma payload is weak. Sags more than any other mid-sizer. Not bashing, just stating.

    Probably would be similar to putting a pallet of tile in a Tacoma. although I think the Toyota would handle it marginally better. Their both small trucks. Some people want a truck to drive to work and haul groceries and might not ever put over a few hundred pounds in the bed, for them a ridgeline makes sense.

    Not all Hondas are great. The Element was so so. Maybe why it is no longer made. Honda should make a real truck and stir up the market.

    Don't forget about the jeep pickup. I think it will be similar to the wrangler with a bed.

    I am for sure keeping an eye on this especially if they put the diesel and 6spd manual combo in it!

    Would literally cost 10's of millions, easily, to retool and setup another factory line for production. Not to mention that line would then not be able to produce other vehicles, which it is probably already doing 24/7. Building a new plant costs 100's of millions. All this to say the likely hood of new production somewhere else is slim-to-none.

    Going from a 97 to my 16. I am beyond content with my third gen. Everyone always bashes anything that is new and or different from what they know. It is a constant. Just remember if you bash the 3rd gen, think about the people that have them, and love them. They are the keeping the Tacoma around by buying them.

    Also do keep in mind,
    I got my Tacoma few months back, but this is election year some people play safer than others. Also a lot of people are spending tons of money on repairs from all of the storms and floods. {If you are one of those people, I am terribly sorry for that. =( }

    I enjoy Toyotas and am a die hard owner.
    I will not shit on anything that would hurt the company, so that in another 20 years, I can buy another.

    Yeah that will be interesting to see. I feel like the jeep pickup will be the tacomas biggest competition. Not because of reliability but obviously being off road capable.
