I would just like to remind everyone about SAE2807... other known as the "truth in towing" standard. My DCLB TRDOFF will tow the 6400lbs its rated to within the parameters of the automotive standard.

I look forward to hooking up to a larger ski boat over memorial day and seeing how it does for myself.

    Mostly stuff I built.
Maybe with an auto transmission it would smitty99 but the manual handles just fine with a similar loaded trailer.

How wide is your trailer; any problems seeing with side mirrors? Also with 2600lbs trailer weight what type of mileage (MPG) and typically what speed do you tow at (65MPH)? Thanks Mike

It's alittle wider than the truck and the mirrors work ok. I have only towed on back roads with lots of hills and got around 13mpg.

Considering Arizona has no hills, yes it was lighter than air.
If you're feeling a 2700lbs trailer on a Tundra you're doing something wrong.

I think when he referred to AZ he was referring to the Valley of the Sun.

Pulled a 2017 Lance 1475 about 250 mi. on the maiden voyage. Pulls great once we got the WDH/ sway control dialed in. ( Equalizer 600/6000)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECT8l4mUUFA

Weighed somewhere around 3000lbs this trip with a max GVW of 3700. Going to the CAT scales soon to get more accurate lbs. once we have it in the final camping configuration (all the stuff in the TT). Then make final adjustment to the set up and then it is off to Woods and Water, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Smokey Mountains, Gulf Coast etc. !

MPG of 11.7 in 5th gear, rolling terrain and a bit of a head wind at 65 with the cruise on.

Camelback Mountain is right in Phoenix. Granted you are not driving up it Several spots rim the valley. May runs up to the Mogollon, great camping up there at 7700 foot level. One of the worst AZ drives is that real long climb up hwy 40 east to Kingman, that one will test a cooling system and the trany. Little easier here in FLA now, biggest hill is going over the Skyway bridge.

Towed my race car to NOLA this weekend from Dallas and observed the following mpg.

    72-80mph - ~12mpg
    62-70mph - ~14.5mpg

98% was in 4th unless extremely long downhill grades where I may have gone into 5th.

    ~4200lbs trailer+car+tires+gear

No higher than 3500RPM at my highest speeds if I recall correctly.. I was in S4 exclusively, except manually going into and out of 5th when conditions warranted it. ECT turned on also.

Is 3500 RPMS high for general cruising? I know on my gen 1 it would be but it seems newer trucks are designed (even V8's) to live happily higher in the rev band.
