I have something very similar that I picked up at China Tools (Harbor Freight) that I have bolted down to my trailer to haul my bike. With a few ratchet tie down straps it does great.

The chocks you have picked out look pretty good to me. I am considering something like that for my trailer. I am also considering one that will work in the bed.

    Maybe something like http://www.discountramps.com/kafe-motorcycle-wheel-chock/p/KAFE-Wheel-Chock/

Not necessarily that one, but a similar design.

The car doesn't need much restoring, we found it and with a little wrenching we drove her the rest of the weekend. Hasn't been touched in 22 years and she rolls just fine :)

The truck pulls just fine, with the addition of trailer brakes it will stop just fine.

If I could compare it, I'd tell you that it pulls better then any 88-2000 Chevy half ton I've ever had.

The power is plenty, you won't be winning any races but you will be doing better then the v8 guys when it comes to mpg.

Yes, four bolts takes all of 15 mines to remove though most of the time if I'm hauling my mower or something else I just leave it in. I'm also going to be taking the trailer to a welding shop soon so they can weld on a plate that an electric remote control winch I bought can be mounted. That way I can load the bike, or mower, when either might break down by myself.

That would be pretty sweet. How long is your trailer?

Its just a 8 foot by 5 foot utility trailer with a 2 by 6 inch treated wood plank floor and folding rear ramp, nothing special.

Just trailered this Jayco 24MBH for 500 miles over this holiday weekend. My best MPG was just over 9.5 @ 62 mph and worst was right around 4-5 mpg when I was hauling butt to make sure I arrived before the gate closing. My best SWAG is I was hauling around 6000lbs of cargo between the bed and trailer. Used a weight distributing hitch with sway control and a brake controller. Zero Drama once I got the hang of how she wanted to be handled.

Nah, I was still under the limit. (LOL or EEEK!) I purposely checked out the stopping distance several times during the trip. I had some interstate stop-and-go to deal with too and even when cars cut in front of me, the Taco and Ebrakes stopped her just fine.

Any idea what your transmission temperature was running during the haul?

No, unfortunately not. The run to the gate was as much as I would ever push it. Next trip I should have my trans temp gauge and bluetooth OBDII sender set up so I can watch it.

    NONE YET =(
Second week with the truck towed about 3thousand lbs of sod with a 1thoudand pound flat bed trailer. I'd say I got roughly 10mpg all mostly city no highway

What will you be using for your temp gauge? I've got the scan gauge and it's working fine with the new codes...I didn't know anyone else had anything in the works.
