yep, that pretty much screwed up traffic...was backed up into Reno. probably someone going home from burning man towing over his limit.

Also think theres something to be said for just letting the truck do its thing when towing. People are quick to forget that going 10 -20 under speed limit is ok if the truck has missed a shift or your hauling up a hill.
I remember when it was norm to just pass campers chillin in the right lane cuz that's where they stayed... Seems majority of people towing nowadays think it's a pissing match and gotta be in the fast lane. "I spent $70 000 + a 10 000 lift for this rig now I gots to show ya ll!!! "
All the d bags forget it's about the destination and not how much coal you can roll along the way.

 

I wouldn't say that. I drove a new tundra, Silverado, and Ram (no f150 yet), and by far the best feel was the tundra. By a mile not even close. The only thing that has me questioning is that's for around the same price as the tundra I can get the ecodiesel which is the only part Toyota is lacking, the new motor

 

I think 3000 lbs is max for this truck if your towing a travel trailer, just my experience.

 

Towing this 2006 Kodiak 26QL, weight is 5100 lbs with my gear. Towing really well without problems.

@arnette64, merci, j'aime ben le look de la boite courte aussi. Le tiens est pas mal non plus. C'est bon de connaitre la consommation avec une charge de 5100 lbs. J'ai pas eu à remorquer autant.

 

You sir have found the trailer I have been looking for!! I have been looking for something that would work for just the wife and I with two small dogs. But also has a full bath. I can't stand the shower and toilet combos and the trailers with bunk beds just piss me off. It's definitely a little more than I was wanting to spend but damn that thing is awesome!!

 

I also have an Aliner (Classic model). Suggestion, for cold weather, bring along some 3/4" foam pipe insulation. Once set up, Stuff it in the gap at the top of the walls where you only have the aluminum flashing. It really helps keep the heat in. Your furnace will cycle about 1/2 as much and you won't use as much propane.

From what information I've gathered the Lance 1475 or 1575 models are a nice option for someone like you and I who are just traveling with the wife and a few pets. If your looking for a light weight small travel trailer I would also suggest you taking a look at the Jayco Hummingbird RB and R-Pod 180 models (the new R-Pod 180 model you can now get with an awning or the tent option) since again like you I'm only considering a dry bath. Me I could care less wet bath or dry bath but the "boss" has laid down the law and she said no way on a wet bath model.

 

I've been looking at all these as well. My wife and I have the same situation, pet wise, and have learned that our little trailer is too small.

You guys mind sharing how much you spent?

 

Thanks, we really like it. Higher quality materials and construction than the more main stream brands and well thought out. I'm 5'10', 200lbs. Shower is a bit tight but it is camping after all. Actually, the shower size is OK but the shower curtain loves to do that shower curtain cling thing.

Towed it about 2,000 mi this past summer on 7 trips and it performed very well.

 

We paid 23,500 for ours including the Equalizer hitch and brake controller. It is fully loaded including a 160 watt solar panel that takes no time to recharge the battery in direct sunlight. It even can charge at a reduced rate in the shade due to it being such a large panel.Highly recommend it.

How does your Tacoma like pulling that trailer on hills?

 

Pulled 3800lb trailer with a 1200ish lb horse, no towing issues, plenty of power, 17.4 mpg.
It made my truck squat a little in the back. I might put boosters on if I decide to keep towing with the Taco. My LX570 gets 11 mpg towing the same set up.
