Nice! How about recoveries? Pulled a couple 5,600 lb. sand anchors free with mine (Chevy Sandburbans buried to their axles)- didn't even have to dig them partly out or gear down to low.

Besides the mods you made for towing. Have you lifted or anything. Good looking truck.

Hahaha, they clearly don't have faith in their truck! I'm pulling it over 6k loaded and don't worry about it.

Lifted 3inches all around with the dakers and spacers, I'm about to upgrade the front to rough country 4in lift, new shocks all around, and I will be getting new kicks next summer. Going with the MT/R from Goodyear 285/75/17

I've been wanting a chance to pull a load like that. After the things I've pulled with mine and the steep terrain in my neck of the woods I figured it could pull 6,000 with ease on flat interstate. I've been looking into buying a travel trailer. Nice to know I can tow one that size.

Sweet. I'm not to the point of customizing yet. I'll keep it stock for a year or so while I'm thinking about it. My problem is when I start on a project I get ocd about it and always needs more. Can't satisfy the craving? LOL

I found a YouTube vid from fast lane trucking where they took the '16 tacoma and did the gauntlet for an MPG showed that steep hills where no match, they used 5600 lbs for the test
check this link out about towing steep hills! This is where I found out my truck is awesome! https://youtu.be/uS3PZpkSkdA

I feel yeah! Dakers are the best option for the rear but so many to pick from for the front. do the research and make the best pick for what you plan on doing with your taco

I've seen that video aswell and agree. I don't understand people's complaints about this truck. Is it a cummins diesel? No. But for a midsize truck it is a beast. It fits all my needs.

I love the truck but also think toyota could benefit by offering a nice v8 and diesel option. Imagine the tundra 5.7 in this thing.

Yes ! Finely someone sees the tacoma for what it is! This truck is a beast for its class size! I think people are just to scared to test the limits

Eh would be ok but I love the compact size
For off reading! If I wanted a truck to tow I would get a chevy or a ford. But I wanted a truck to take on back roads in the county. Towing was never a plan of mine but it ended up working out well for me

I hear ya. My truck fits me perfectly. I use it to tow a little, offroad a little, work alittle, carry the wife and kids around. It's a perfect all around vehicle and if you change your mind later well, I just traded my 14 sport with 45000 miles for $28,000. Can't beat that. 100% satisfied with my choice.

never once saw them on "steep" hills. In fact, the few shots of the surrounding area was pretty damn flat. (I'm not disputing the claim, I tow several times a month over the Sierra Nevada, but their vid does not support the claim.)

Flat tow my Jeep, does well. 13mpg or so, don't like to drive to swiftly with tow bar.

Like hook and ladder said. You need to put a little faith in your truck and not worry about it. I doubt toyota will put a larger tow rating on there truck than what it can actually handle. Most company's will put a lower number on things to play it safe to save there butts. Tacoma has the reliability reputation For a reason.

The area I live, towing 3,000 or more I only average 8-9 mpg. But I'm not worried about the mpg for the fact I didn't buy this truck for towing every other day. If anyone has than they made a terrible choice. I average 21-25 everyday driving and that's great.

You wont have problems until you are towing cross country in the open plains. You will be blown off the road. I'm currently in the market for a TT and will be facing hard wind shears when we head towards the mountains. Between the wind and the elevation I wouldn't pull something like what you have. Short hops, sure. Cross country, no way. Sweet rig tho .
