I feel your pain. I have had temps over that, with a secondary transmission cooler that is at least 4 times the size of the stock one. it doesn't really keep the temps down while climbing hills, but as soon as you set off the gas, the temps drop back near 200 in seconds. I've just changed my fluid more often too (which is not cheap).

Apologies for the picture, I just hauled this 18’ boat almost 600 miles from Panama City Beach FL, to Charlotte NC. First time ever pulling anything and my 19’ off-road did great. Average speed was around 65 mph, gas mileage wasn’t the greatest. Total weight was probably near 1,700 lbs.

    Define ‘wasn’t the greatest’. I’m guessing 14’ish?

I tow my Lund 2-3 times a week in the summer sometimes as far as 200 miles to northern MN. Boat fully loaded with the trailer is probably a bit over 3,000lbs. I have the MT and it does great. I don’t use 6th gear much if at all and average about 15mpg it drops to about 13mpg on the interstate if I’m doing 70mph. 1st gear is great for the steep ramps it just crawls right out. Haven’t needed 4wd yet.

No one would ever confuse me for an electrician type. Quick question, I want to throw two of these lights on the bumper of my travel trailer for when I am backing up at night. They are 28 watts each. Do you think there would be an issue if I simply tap into the trailer backup light wiring??? Thanks.

Don’t get me started on that score with the wife. Here’s mine. 3800lbs dry, 6000 max. No issues. Not racing anyone. A2E43B06-FCCB-4AF7-BF5C-B3638E082ACB.jpg7279EDBA-56E4-42E3-B413-88F2C548DC9C.jpg2017 MicroMinnie.

Got a similar length 19' boston whaler around 2k lbs. I tow in the summer with my 2020 v6 auto in ECT S5 it averages around 18.5-19 mpg going 50-65 mph.

Not bad... considering some get 16-17 depending on habits.

I'm looking to buy new tires this summer, and a few times per week I'm towing a 19' boat with a total towed weight of about 3,500 pounds. Can I get away with C-load Wildpeak AT3W in 265/75R16, or do I need E-rated?

I assume your talking about the truck and not the trailer. The trailer most likely only adds a couple (few?) hundred pounds to the rear of the truck.

Are you sure about the C? I only see that size in SL and E. SL is rated at #2756 and the E is #3415. Either one is fine.

Yeah good clarification on that, I am buying tires for the truck. Unsure of tongue weight but I assume around 350 pounds. I should mention I also have 6100/5160 with 3AAL and without overload leaf.

SL are more than adequate. I had AT3W's in 265/70-17's for about 50k miles and never had any issue, towing or not. I went to E's now and it tows exactly the same.

For everyday driving around and mpg, SL's win though.

I tow our travel trailer that I'd bet gets to 4500-5000 lbs loaded with Wildpeaks in SL. No problems. No way in hell I'd want to run a tire that's even less forgiving and worse on gas mileage.

Anyone know the hitch height of a stock TRD OR? Trying to figure how much of a drop I need to get an 18.5" ball height.

Yes, I have a tape measure, but I'm stuck in the office and I'm sure I'll forget to measure it until "oh shit, I needed to get a new receiver" hour arrives. So I'm asking you kind folks before that happens.
