I’m waiting on Bilstein to release their 6112 for this gen or even 8100’s. Or I wait for Fox to release theirs.

I’m gonna do the Dobinsons kit… Hopefully it’s on sale for Black Friday.

Definitely not getting the Icons.. Anything besides that garbage

Save up and get King, or just do Bilstein 6112/5160.

Do you spray ACF-50 all over the coilover as rust prevention? I may need to look into this for my next setup..my current set of Kings are toast from rust!

I have owned three sets of their coilovers on three different generations of Tacomas. Even back when they were owned by Donahoe Racing. No issues and always impressed with their products. Customer service can be hit or miss I’ve heard. I can’t complain about that though. Would you mind elaborating on your experiences?

Sure, kings are performance suspension and not meant for “lift”.

Just ordered the Dobinsons MRR kit for their November 15% off sale. Ended up being almost 1000 off with the odds and ends added. Super excited to be one of the first 4th gens running it!

    why would I buy a 2” coilover for $1K? When I can just get a 2.5” bilstein for $600

I’ve only had icons on a 2023 Tundra. The non resi version. When compared to the Dobinsons shock. The build quality and weight was much superior. I wouldn’t be surprised if Icons are made in China or Mexico. It’s an okay product but I feel like there’s better options out there.

I’ve gone through a bunch of suspension set ups on my 2017 Tacoma… 5100s, OME, 6112&5160 (this set up is great), kings.

2023 Tundra, RC level strut, Icon non resi with tubular arms, Dobinsons

I mean our trucks are made in Mexico so that’s not a huge point to be made.

Also, where you getting 2.5s for this truck for $600? :boink:

Obviously you’re not talking about the 4th gen but why mention it then

I have never heard of them either. Maybe they're awesome. Maybe they don't inflate the value of it. Maybe they're exceptionally well manufactured.

But my general philosophy is, "there's nothing more expensive than cheap aftermarket parts."

Limited Lifetime warranty, for what it’s worth? Sent an email and got a quick response, said the most common failure is when vehicles are not driven for 3-4 months, Tested in excess of -50 temps, some fancy coating to resist corrosion, and 6 position adjustments, made in the USA, popular with Jeep’s and Bronco’s.. Pulled the trigger! Will report…

It doesn’t look too bad but I want 2.5” or bigger shocks.. The reservoir may make up for that… Maybe at a thousand dollars I’d try them
