I was able to check out a new 2024 Tacoma the other day, and upon putting in in reverse, I was really impressed with the clarity of the camera compared to that of my 2019 model.

Does anyone know if the '24 camera can be retrofitted to my '19 Taco?

Is the camera the fix, or is the 2024 screen or other components what increases the resolution?

The camera on the 3rd gen is not the issue, its the infotainment screen resolution. A new camera won't make it any more clear.

I am not sure about that. I have factory 360 cameras, and the stitched image (bird's eye view) is clearer on the sides and front than in the back.

It was the infotainment resolution in my 2019. I replaced the head unit with a Sony XAV-9000, and now the view from the oem backup camera is so much clearer and sharper.

It's a combination and honestly a new headunit makes a huge upgrade for tacomas, especially 16-19 models.

I run a 20$ aftermarket camera on every car I own and it looks better than the old entune display.

The worst is the damn 360 camera on the 3rd gens. Truly awful quality.

You can easily upgrade to a '24 camera for free, after purchasing a new Taco..:D
