What is with the damn high bed sides? Every domestic pickup now has silly high bed sides and tail gate. The low bed sides and tail gate on the Tacoma is the way it should be. Can easily reach into the bed and get to the needed items.

I have no idea. But, I am happy that the Taco had remained lower than the others.

I didn't notice that at first glance but definitely has the bizarre high bed sides. I think the vehicle itself is only slightly larger than the current Mustang so maybe you won't need a ladder to reach over.

Thanks for the graphic! Your Chevy example was the first truck I learned to drive on at the age of 11. It had knobby mud tires and road like a buckboard. What a change the Tacoma is in comfort!

This tailgate was from a late 40s Chevy 3100 I believe. These trucks are huge compared to the really old fellas.

Can I just say I hate this. I don't hate the truck, I don't know much about it. I don't care that Ford added a third truck offering to their lineup. The thing that irks me is that they are marketing it as a compact truck. I mean, just look at the thing. It is not a compact truck. Its as big as the Ranger (which is also no longer compact) and the Tacoma. It's definitely a mid-sized truck. Sadly due to Chicken Tax and all the new safety regulations, I don't think we will ever see a new true compact pickup released in the states.

Saw this today. Not a apples to apples comparison, but applies to this topic.

I dont think it's as large as you think, saw a camo one parked beside a new Mustang and it seemed to only be a few inches longer.

A 2021 Mustang is around 188 inches long so my guess is this thing is maybe 195", an old 2000's previous Generation Ranger in extended cab form was 204" so this one is compact.

Perhaps we will just have to wait for more/better pictures and comparisons. By the obscure photos on the internet right now, that thing looks midsized

The one that helped me judge was it being parked beside a new Mustang at a Dealership, if l can find that one again l will post it.

1/2 tons... don't forget to reduce the payload by all the goodies added to your truck and then the passengers !

Thanks for finding that picture, seeing it parked directly beside a new Mustang helps judge its size, my guess is it's somewhere around 195 or 196 inches long.

Telling you! Even if it was just an option for work trucks.

    Those VWs were cool.
