Today I went out wheeling with my brother and listened to him instead of checking things out first and damaged the skid that is in front of the transfer case and under the front drive shaft.

It looks like it has wings or whatever. It sits over the exhaust which I found very weird. Somehow my exhaust came out unscathed but this got destroyed. So much so that the drive shaft would rub when in 4wd.

(my terminology may be wrong on this I'm not a pro)

Is there a direct bolt on replacement or after market skid that bolts right in?

It seems as though this particular part isn't on some tacoma's that I've seen.
Maybe just an TRD off road thing?
