Has anyone come across a listing of Gen3 dash switch opening dimensions? While I can find my calipers (hopefully) and measure myself, I don't really want to take apart the dash until I need to, and my flexibility and close up vision are not really what they used to be. :bananadead:

No dimensions needed. Dash switches come in two standard flavors - "Toyota tall" is 3rd gen left panel, (some switches) and I think overhead console?. "Toyota small" or "Toyota short" are the other left panels and center console.

CH4x4 makes them, as does Mictuning. My last purchase was from a little company called Stark Industries and I really like their quality compared to others.

Oh no. So the reason for the inquiry - I wanted to pull the USB connector with door from under the climate controls, and use a cable I can get on Amazon to relocate the USB connector to perhaps the Glovebox, because I am using a wireless Android Auto dongle (Motorola MA1), and wish to use that space for something else, perhaps a USB charger with voltage display.

However, that pesky USB connector with door opening in the panel is not a standard "small" or "short" size.

Can't a guy get a break? Now, I wouldn't mind putting a "blank" in there, but is there a blank for that spot / size? :frusty:

Sounds like you need one of theses,
    https://mesocustoms.com/collections...oma-lower-switch-panel?variant=17232149971057
    Or similar.
in my experience getting the switches to fit without a custom panel is not easy.

Aob switches have a “new Toyota blue” that matches the interior. They also have another small switch that might be the size of the usb slot. But you’re gonna want your calipers to confirm this.

Hello, any update on this? Just measured my usb port on my 2022 Tacoma and the hole measures 22mm wide and 26mm tall. I wan to remove the media port usb to the center console and just put a blank there or the anytime camera switch.

@JeancoLunarTaco No update from me yet. I ordered some 22x22mm switches from China that appears will fit there, but haven't received them yet. When you measured it, is the actual dimension of the opening underneath the climate controls 22x26mm from the front/passenger side, or from the back/connector side? As for relocating the USB with connection to the head-unit for playing music or for android auto or for apple carplay (or for a wireless dongle for same), how do you plan to accomplish that?

I measured the dimension from the front/passenger side with the media port plugged in. As far as the relocation, Im planning on connecting a 10ft usb cable for my phone and secure it to prevent disconnecting. Then I'll find a way to snake the cable under the center console and leave it inside the center console compartment. That way I can put a blank or compressor switch in that location.

Fingers crossed that I can succeed at that task. I just dont like the usb cable in the front and to top it off the usb lid broke off so it looks ugly af.

If you are using AA you can't use a long cable. It can only be like 3' max or things get glitchy. I rerouted my USB port to the glove box using an Alibaba adapter to USB female. I then had a panel mount USB female to male with a 3' cable. Then a 18" USB-C cable. AA was super unreliable. I went back to just the Alibaba adapter and a regular 18" cable. No more problems.
I did try multiple cables and any long ones caused the same issue. Test it yourself before you put the effort in.

UPDATE: Hello guys, just finished doing my media port relocation. I was doing the anytime camera and Zpresicion cup holder install and took the chance to do this. I removed the media port from the dash and secured with zip ties a 10ft usb cable on the port, then snaked the cable from the dash up to the center console storage underneath the plastic. So far Apple Car Play works great. Hope this helps anyone trying this.

Did you just relocate the usb or split it?
...and I'm assuming that you're using it for data.

I'd like to split it and still have it in the dash but also put data usb for music in the glove box or center console, I guess I need a hub for that.
