Have your Velcro straps holding your Awning cover broke? Isn't it a PITA to hold your awning top while trying to zip your awning cover? Then you're relying on your awning exterior cover that you zipped together to hold your awning, hoping the zipper doesn't separate and your awning flying out while your on the road.

I've repaired mine and it's super easy. All conventional awnings are built the same. They are only different by length and by brand name placed on the exterior cover.

    List of Materials:

    A. (4) 6" flat tip screwdrivers.
    B. Xacto knife or razor blade.
    C. (3) Velcro Straps.

These velcro straps will work for most awnings.

    1. Lift one of the poles and locate where the pop rivets are at. You will need to place 4 small flat tip screwdrivers in the middle, between the rivets and lightly push each screwdriver between the exterior cover mounting rail and the awning rail. Leave about a 1 inch space to allow the velcro strap to be pushed through opening. Be careful not to tear the exterior cover. Place each screwdriver as shown below. Just pry enough to be able to push the new Velcro strap through the pried opening. The opening/gap is only about 1/16 of an inch.

DO NOT PRY BEYOND PRELOAD OF THE AWNING RAIL. IF YOU PRY TO FAR THE AWNING RAIL WILL NOT SPRING BACK TO ORIGNINAL POSITION.

After you push the new Velcro strap through, remove the 4 screwdrivers and the rail will spring back/return to its original form.

    2. As you can see below is just enough gap to push the new Velcro strap into place.

    3. Push Velcro strap through opening.

    4. Remove screwdrivers.

    5. Cut old broken remaining Velcro strap with a xacto blade, be careful not to cut the exterior cover. Pull the new Velcro strap back and forth and slide it next to the old Velcro strap that you cut off. YOU CAN'T REMOVE THE ENTIRE STRAP UNLESS YOU REMOVE ALL RIVETS AND DISASSEMBLE THE ENTIRE AWNING ASSEMBLY.

    6. Repeat these steps to place additional Velcro straps as you see fit.

    7. End results shown below.
