Wow....Just did some poking around on the build site. I hope they're not finished with it yet cuz this doesn't make any sense.

I selected a TRD Sport Access cab 6foot bed, automatic, in Inferno....the only OPTION that I could select was tow package.
Apparently, the Premium Technology package only comes in the blue & tan colored tacomas. WTF? THat's a bunch of BS if you ask me!!!

This is really & truly disappointing. If this is true.... I might just end up with something else. The GMC is looking better and better.

You can only build configs that are allocated to the port. The toyota website is more of a truck finder than a truck builder. But once everything is available everywhere it works like a builder. I tried your build and I didn't have any issue configuring an inferno AC with technology using zip 84011, which is somewhere in Utah I think. Although certain configs just aren't allocated to certain regions at all. The one you are looking for isn't rare (i.e. a manual) so it should pop up eventually in your region.

Do you mind telling me when you ordered and what model you ordered for your truck? Also where are you located? I hope that I don't have to wait that long. I'm looking to put my current car away before snow hits the ground.

That's great ! At 140" wheel base, the Tacoma can officially be had as an off road bus. It's good that it comes with a back up camera. This thing won't be turning around anywhere.

Oh it can't be that bad lol. Thinking about full size crew cabs with long beds. 8 feet just in the bed!

Also 5 ft is pointless to me, might as well just get a jeep or suv then lol

HEY, we prefer the title "trail limo".

Actually, I've never been in a spot where it was impossible to get my long bed double cab through. It just takes slightly more planning then a DCSB.

It's very useful to be able to load up the bed with tons of gear and still have the interior space for all your other sensitive gear and/or passengers.

So I drove a 15 today...I'm thinking I like the 2nd gens better. I still need to drive a 16 TRD Offroad though and 2nd gen Offroad. The 16 was a sport and the 15 was a Limited. Oddly the 15 felt like it had more power, even though on paper it doesn't.

Main issue with the 16 is that it seems like they made the suspension way too soft. I hit a raised crosswalk during the test drive at a pretty good speed and the front end continued to bounce a good four times, almost similar to how it feels when you have a bad shock. I like the technology though. I'd have to get the JBL as the one I test drove didn't have it and the stereo sounded very tinny and boxed in, it was bad. Neither one did I feel like I was sitting on the floor like some people say. 15 sounded quieter inside the cab than the 16.

But I still want to drive a 15 Offroad and 16 Offroad to compare.

I do like all the storage on the second and third gens, a lot more space that my current taco haha!

And I priced out color matched flares, $250 each for fronts, $500 each for the back ones. Man I hope I could just find someone to trade LOL

That's kinda 'ridiculous' how that's setup. But then again....I don't understand WHY certain things aren't available in certain regions. Make everything a package - and let the consumers decide what they want or don't want.

Looks like I won't be shopping until next spring. The way this is going....my area won't be fully stocked for a very long time and with the holiday crunch in there. I'll be lucky to get a glimpse of one I want a

I was finally able to drive a '16 today... a 2016 Toyota Tacoma SR5 V6 Truck Double Cab.

Even if they did not have an Off Road, which is what I am looking for, I wanted to test drive it to get a feel for it. Went with my wife.

When you see it parked next to the Tundras in the lot, it looks so much smaller, lol.

I will not go into any details of the truck, lots of feedback already in the forum. All I can say is that we like it! Really liked the lines, front, rear, side, etc. Drive was a short one but I got to drive it slow and fast...with and without the ECT on and off.

They also had the same one in Quicksand

    http://www.toyotaoforlando.com/new/Toyota/2016-Toyota-Tacoma-fa0177ce0a0e0adf11eaf16bd7d29bd2.htm

Now we wait for when the frenzy settles down and they have more inventory onsite... but we are buying one.

After seeing it, sent a few photos to my brother (he used to be regional director for Toyota back home)... a few minutes later I get a call from him trying to convince me to go with the long bed and not the short one, lol. Now I am rethinking my decision on the size of the bed... we will see... I have time.

How about post up a pic of what you currently have? I am always looking for ideas on bike transport. I never use a tailgate pad but see your point about the stress right at the headset when you do use one. hat should not ever be an issue w/a fork mont though. And if you do a write up please also message me so I am sure to see it.

    thanks

Dealership inventory manager (Austin TX) had been struggling to turn an allocation order into a 7172, DCLB TRD Sport. Further complicating things was adding all the other packages. Toyota finally said yes three weeks later, but the build date has kept slipping because of every other one of you bastards is ALSO asking for the blind spot monitor and such.

SO I have to wait until Christmas because I want it my way.

    *sigh*
