Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
I like the tech carried over from the 4runner for offroad package.

I like the dash, and that they are offering a manual trans.

I am interested in the new engine tech and anxious to see what happens.

I like that they kept the size the same.

I like the new windshield, and I am curious if the frame and dimensions are the same. it could be a good upgrade for gen 2.

gave a few ups. heres my down. F that grill.

The only thing unchanged is the dimensions which there were nothing wrong with.

DCSB to DCSB is 4 inches longer? What's longer, the bed or the cab, or is that all in the extended nose?

I recall everyone raving about the cab not being lengthened and the bed looked the same. Now that you mention it I remember people mentioning a possible 3 inches added in front of the radiator

^^ they love to do that these days. my 2014 Corolla is "all new" with parts from 3 generations mixed in with new bits and new styling.

That does not make it bad, I actually really like the little econo turd with the poser S plus package. It is slow as corn syrup in the winter.

They kept a few key things, but really changed them all. They have done this since the 70's. No question about it, every single truck since the 70's had something very similar and closely related to the one before but "improved" which they call "new"

I don't think just because a truck is called all-new it needs to be completely different than the previous gen. If it isn't broke don't fix it, the 2nd gen is already pretty damn awesome. That being said though I see a ton of changes

Somewhere in my post, hidden no doubt.. I do mean that!

I was trying to point out they always build on the last gen, ALL NEW doesn't mean it does not contain elements of the last gen

When you think about it, how much can you change without being "too drastic" and causing an uproar. Toyota plays it safe by giving enough updates to the interior technology to get everyone excited. At the same time, they give a light facelift to not cause mass divide. No one really can complain about the engine and trans changes cuz nothing solid has been provided...

Since the 2016 Tacoma will be my first truck, I have no heartache at all. The long time Tacoma owners may have a believed reason to grumble. But that will not affect my purchase or my enjoyment of a 2016. I have been waiting a long time to get my truck, and I am anxious for them to hit the dealerships.

    cab size and wheel base.

the nose in front of the radiator was increased 3inches, and it looks like the extra inch is out back in a bigger bumper.

I have a hunch my full bolt on sliders on my 2nd gen are going to bolt right up to the 3rd gen frame.

I would like the cab to be a tad bigger but I'm not getting my hopes up. And what I was referring to earlier is that they did not increase the size of the truck where it needn't be changed. Sure, a few inches for radiator room and hopefully some for the cab but it is still a midsize truck. It is not compact nor did it jump up a size like some were afraid of

Yes it is good new for us all that they kept it the same or very close to the same size. Its already big for a mid size truck!

The interior dimensions should be identical as the gen 2 as it is built on the same basic architecture as the gen 2. Of course, you can get extra/less hip/leg/should/etc room by equipping it with different seats.
