Good to see the damped tailgate available, no more dicking around with aftermarket EZ-down struts.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
I have always thought that was cool on the Tundra. I personally could care less on the Tacoma where the tailgate only weighs a few pounds and is small. Still cool :)

Same here, had it on both of my Titans and when I got the Taco, I thought
why didn't they throw something as simple on this...along with side mirror
defrosters - which I'm hoping the 2016's will have.

Of all the things people want as option that I don't care about. Defrosted mirrors would be nice!

By the looks of things, no LED tail lights in the 2016 Tacoma? This is 2015 right?

I'm sure just like the 2nd gen tacoma and 4th and 5th gen 4runner, you'll have to wait for the refresh if you want simple technology that should have been there in the first place.

Same here, couldn't care less about the tail gate option but I'm with you,
throw some heat on those side mirrors already! :)

Off road bumpers should be as high and tight as possible, unfortunately that grill makes it look like it's sagging.
I foresee some aftermarket bumper installations involving cutting the grill in half, which I wouldn't be opposed to if it's possible.

Or maybe replacement grill inserts paired with bumpers? If someone could create one that just follows the lines of the lights and then plan a bumper around that it would solve a lot of problems.

Agreed! That thing is just too low with the stock grill. I was thinking
the same when I first saw it - at least 1/2 would have to go!

I can see the current gen tacomas getting neglected but since this is brand spanking new and modern looking, I don't think anyone dare try to sell anything that would take away from the design. So I think inserts or fillers or something aesthetic will be implemented if necessary.
